I was SUPER excited to start beekeeping next spring....however, after hearing of all these parasites...I think I changed my mind. My dad had bees when I was a kid in the '70s. There was not all the parasites as there are now. Excellent educating content. THANK YOU!

Being a new beekeeper is not for the faint of heart. I've been keeping bees for almost 10 years now and I don't treat... I typically lose about 15 to 20% of my hives. Maybe I'm lucky... but making splits every spring more than makes up for the losses. I do admit that the first 3 - 4 years were challenging but you learn from experience. My low point was when I finally had a hive producing a lot of honey but then the hive beetles destroyed it all... it was tough, but I kept on going!

Lots of usefull info and course. It should include a test and certificate at the end imo. AVC to attract small hive beetles bc it smells like fermented honey he said..hmm.. i read AVC can be used to keep bees away from the garden also.
