"You let misery win. And it will keep on winning till you die - or overcome it." Disco Elysium is full of quotes that are forever stuck in my brain, like rusty nails.
> Trashes the room > Forces bartender to quit > Shoots a corpse > Sells partner's property to settle debt > Gets asked to pay in advance "This is why I'm a communist"
@@SlowArchives You could have gotten inside the harbor quickly if only you did not give away the ID you stole from the sleeping worker. You could have just returned it to Manana afterwards.
Bird’s Nest Roy is such a great example of how the game handles its characters. He’s an innocuous character, just there seemingly to serve a gameplay function. He’s a little off putting initially, there’s tons of things you could assume about him just based on the vibe. But then you start talking to him, prying into his drug use, and you get an entirely different picture of this guy. A dude who at one point, felt so strongly about serving his community he willingly volunteered doing cleanup after a disaster, knowing it was at great risk to his own health. And then, to cope physically, he had to take medication, that eventually turned into an addiction. Now he only uses it to cope mentally, and he sits in his pawn shop all day getting high. Love when a game gives an unexpected depth to minor characters.
Wow, that moment where you wondered if Kim was real was really powerful. What a plot twist it'd be if Kim was all in your head and it turned out you just ran around talking to yourself the whole game.
