AHEAD works by hitting its target with the submunitions similar to how its shown in the video, except it starts to disperse earlier causing a wider cone. As only some of the submunitions have to hit to cause catastrophic damage, thus the hit doesn’t have to be as precise. If you were to shoot in front of the target, all the projectiles would miss the target, as they don’t linger. That how the physics work with KETF moving at close to 1000 m/s. Thus you‘d shoot AHEAD in the same manner you‘d shoot any other round when trying to hit the drone.

In this simulation, the drone looks like it stops because it was assumed that the bullets are 20 times faster than the drone and the simulation time span was only 2 ms.

Also it'd be cool to see misses. Like if if it's diving at you will the sub projectiles have time to spread? And if it's manoeuvring at the gun's maximum range will the spread compensate for the difference between the drones position and where the shell lands?

With the 35mm being in platforms like the Gepard intended for intercepting low flying jet aircraft even if the drone is fast it wouldn't stand much of a chance.

1. The platforms that would be using this ammo are ones equipped with radar, there is no need to visually identify the drone. 2. Drones are unable to fly high enough to avoid fire from said platforms. 3. Said platforms are designed to shoot down jets, they will not struggle with a drone.

I think explosive pressure induced by explosive matter in 35mm dia bullet is not enough to damage the drone, meaning that spreading sharp subprojectiles is more effective.
