He is a class act. He will land on his feet. The Canucks management should be ashamed of themselves in the way they shoved Gabby under the bus.If you are going to fire him, then do it. Don't leave him dangling like they did.
@@samdrewbies7883 They strung the coach along since at least November. In fact, management grumbled even last season. They released a lot of statements to the public. They should have shut their mouths a bit when it comes to staff.
Yes Canucks are too weak, Problem is the Media and the Fans that treat them like candies. See in Montreal if you suck they put on the first page and people scream at you in the streets. Result?24 cups! Vancouver=none and never will be. When they reached the finals it was by luck, overtime goals,
Canucks management are completely inept. The players don’t want Bruce to go, the fans don’t want Bruce to go, so why let him go? The Canucks will fall even further now without him. I’m no Canucks fan at all, and I still loved the fact that the Oilers beat them, but mad respect to Bruce, the remaining coaching staff, the players, and the fans. You all deserve better.
This is on the shoulders of the owner, he hired Bruce before hiring the president and GM, and didn't think about the part where they're suppose to choose the coach. Bruce was never their guy so they didnt care.
He is a damn good coach everyone loves him getting a new coach who not only has had players say they hate playing for him but has no where near the experience and wins that Bruce has had just messed up I’m sorry Vancouver fans and players
Crying is not silly, Bruce. It’s necessary and only human. Shows that you and the players care for each other. Great guy and coach. Sad to see him go this way. What’s silly is the franchise’s management and how they have been dealing with many situations. Bruce is a class act. Wish him all the best going forward!
Boudreau is a survivor. From his playing days as a Leaf he’s been a survivor. He’ll get another kick at the can somewhere. I’d love to see him win the Cup in the future.
Bruce was the best thing to happen to our Canucks in a long time, im so embarrassed on how he was treated in this manner. Bruce you are absolute class and just an amazing human…you are missed big time and definitely made a huge impact on fans and players in Vancouver. Much live and respect to you Bruce…i know you are going to get an amazing opportunity very soon.
The Canucks were blessed to have you, you were an awesome good coach with so much respect towards the players. I looked forward to watching the game with you there, you brought such positive encouragement to the team that you don't see very much anymore these days. You're a class act and a true gentleman! If the Canucks had any hope in growing & improving as a team it was with having you as their coach. God Bless you Bruce, going to really miss you! 🙏
This guy Bruce is a class act and will always be my coach. The way the Canucks Management has treated him these last few months is despicable. I hope JR and Alvin rot in hell for what they have done and said about Bruce.
What a sweetheart and genuine guy! He will find an opportunity soon where he will be with like minded people. Love the fans' support for him throughout all this
I got stranded in Vancouver over Christmas and slept on the airport floor, freezing. I decided I hate Vancoover. Now I have another reason. Good luck, Bruce
@@trickolas78 Maybe your confusion is you thought Donna was complaining about her drinking water freezing? "Freezing" has countless meanings: water solidifies= 0C Scotch= -26C diesel fuel (gelling) = -10C spruce budworm LLT 80=
We were stuck in the baggage area during a winter storm. It was freezing with the door opening constantly. I guess you don’t follow the news or travel. Thousands of people were stranded there
You hate Vancouver because you slept in the airport and their hockey team fired a coach? You should get a life maybe? How does a hockey team represent a city? It's like saying I ate something bad in Edmonton's McDonald and now I hate Edmonton...get a life, seriously
This man is a true treasure. Bruce is all heart, passion and emotion. He has so much enthusiasm and love for the sport. You can clearly see how much he enjoyed coaching those players. And vice versa. He is such a stand-up guy. Never took any shots at the circus management. Just answered every question and handled a tough situation as well as anyone. Bruce There It Is!!!
Also remember that Demko was playing like crap at the beginning then got injured. No coach can win games with 3rd sting goalie in Martin and crappy defense men
I love coach B ,very few people like him in the world he genuinely cares and doesnt have a bad bone in his body. Thank you sir, coach boudreau we support you all the way always have and always will. I would truly love for coach boudreau to win a stanley cup with another team and raise it high above his head to end his career in hockey ,just thinking about that brings tears to my eyes.
This Guy, is so unbelievably humble!! Before I die, my last wish is to shake his hand and give him a hug!! As a big Leaf fan, I truly wish that they could find a position for him in their organization!! He was treated so badly by the Canuck organization that I will never watch another Vancouver game!! Bruce, you have so many Canadian fans, not just because you are a great coach and leader, but you also have shown this wonderful country what it means to be human!! Blessings, John
Fails so bad that Aquaman will fire him and hire another coach, rinse and repeat so he can pay all 4 coaches at the same time. If Aquaman gets diarrhea he will also fire the coach because that's what he does
Ownership and management are between a rock and hard place showing these last postgame interviews with Bruce. If they post them online, they're just garnering more sympathy for Bruce and more anger against them, which is understandable. Coaches at the best of times are hired to be fired and management groups routinely use coaches as scapegoats for their at best misguided decisions. A coach can make a huge difference, as we saw last year. But if you're overpaying for Ikea quality too many times, you're going to end up with a lot of stuff in your recycling bin in the garage no matter how well you "take care" of them. The way this was done was especially egregious because they literally strung Bruce, one of the winningest coaches in NHL history and beloved by the fanbase, along since the offseason about whether or not he was coming back at all and then at the first sign of trouble, it's not our fault. "This team has no structure." Seriously, Jim Rutherford inherited Crosby and Malkin, right? You can have all the structure you want, but if your defence looks like a bunch of guys Walter Matthau coached in 1976, you're not going anywhere in 2023's NHL. I don't look at Bruce or Torts as wrong coach, wrong time. I look at them as wrong team, wrong time. They say it's a poor workman who blames his tools, but again, if you're mostly shopping at Ikea (while paying Armani prices), be surprised when it looks like everything in your house is falling apart.
How long before Tocchett tells Rutherford to shove his job and the team. I remember seeing gabby playing Jr. A at Maple Leaf Gardens, Sunday afternoon doubleheaders. Good Luck Bruce. Your daughter knows of me.
I hope to see him behind the bench again. Better days ahead for you Brucey. Guy came into a complete mess and handled it better than anybody could. What a stalwart
This guy completely turned Vancouver around when he came here. Now you're going to fire the best coach we ever had because of defense is playing sloppy and we can't stop taking penalties that's all on the players not on Bruce
That comment about the players being so upset after the game speaks volumes about Boudreau and what he brought to the team. I can’t imagine why some of the players looking for contracts would want to hang around this organization going forward. No class, and no real leadership at the top. That’s going to cost them going forward too.
Crying when talking to your players or especially on the ice means you actually give a dang about hockey. My sledge hockey team hadn’t won a game in two years ( we had a tournament last weekend and won a game) and there was a time I didn’t know if I wanted to keep playing. Not because I wanted to give up but because I truly care about my team. I almost cried on the ice during one of our tournament games. It’s ok to cry Bruce
I feel bad for Bruce. He is classy guy and I like him. On the other hand, the Canucks ownership and Management has always been somewhat of a joke to me. I am over 60 and doubt I'll ever see a cup in Vancouver. They don't get it and neither does the media. Cheers.😁
A sad and embarrassing day to be a Canucks fan. The only possible consolation is that this sinks them even lower in the standings to have a reasonable shot at Bedard. Something good needs to happen to this franchise soon or us older fans might experience what we fear… not living long enough to see them win.
What a gentleman and a role model! I started crying watching him wave to the audience! So sad, Aquilini’s should be ashamed of themselves, along with the rest of squad. This organization doesn’t give a fuck about anyone. No wonder no one wants to stay here. You’re better off Bruce, stay classy!
Much love to Bruce Boudreau from a Detroit Red Wings fan. I don't think Canucks management realizes just how badly the screwed themselves by treating Gabby like this. If this is how you treat the a coach that is third in all time winning percentage behind only Bowman and Blake, how do you think players will be treated? You're crazy if you think upcoming free agents weren't watching this play out. The ones with options will remember this... and it could very well hurt the Canucks chances and landing quality Free Agents.
Canucks organization should be ashamed of how this is going. They should go hide in a hole. Unreal way to let this man do through this. I hope they don’t win a game rest of season. Move on coach. You deserve better. They will do the same to the next guy.
If Vancouver thinks that Bruce needs to continue, think there is something wrong with the owners and organization. To treat a coach with his reputation why should someone else think its going to be any different. This reminds me of the Texans firing coaches every year. Good luck with the rebuild doubt Canuks players start talking to your agents and get the hell out of there
“We’ll it means a lot, but Edmonton played really hard, you can see when Connor scored that first goal he came pumping to the bench, they didn’t want us to win they played as hard as they could you know I think we played them step for step in it” This breaks my heart as an oiler, wished there’s a way both teams to win
Canucks defence is the number one in the league in terms of salary yet they are 29th in defensive play. You don't need to know anymore than that. OEL and Myers make up 13 million in salary cap and they are at best 5-6 defencemen in any other top team. We have one defenceme named Hughes and the rest are third pairings. Stillman was brought in by Rutherford and is a complete inept bust. This management had a chance to go out and get defencemen in the off season and chose not to. This is all on management and they are masters of deflection as to put the blame on the second winningest coach just behind Bowman is despicable. Now we bring in Tochett and the team goes on a 500 run and we come in right in that mid range selecting 10-15 in the draft and here we go again in the dog days of mediocrity. God bless you Bruce and we will still be chanting Bruce there it is in the stands even if Tochett is behind the bench because we know who is truly at fault here. Its the cold hearted, ruthless management team.
Why does this whole situation feel like saying goodbye to your dad who your mom divorced... We're not making the playoffs anyway, so why not just tank for Bedard...?
When the players love the coach, as is the case here, it’s not the culture in the room, it’s the construction of the team on the ice, and that’s on the GM. He’s done a lousy job, and he’s really handled this about as poorly as one could. As a Leaf fan, I would love to our team hire Bruce. He’d be a great shot in the arm. Would also like to thank the Canucks for taking over the organizational gong show award…….
I think someone started cutting onions, I feel horrible for Bruce .. This is up there with the Cam Neely trade as the stupidest move by any Canucks management in team history... Just makes no sense whatsoever.. They treated Torts like sh!t, put a muzzle on him and other than the Calgary game he was never allowed to be the coach he was... Not they treat one of the classiest, most respected by players coaches currently in the game like total garbage.. And replace him with someone with a career losing record and limited experience... I feel bad for the team, the players and staff... Good luck working for a bunch of clowns.. Embarrassing time to be a Canucks fan 🙈 Good luck boys 👍 and ownership, you know where you can stick it 🖕
Is up to the players to be come to play every game, is more of the players fault and management not providing Broudreu with the proper players during the off season to be a contender
It is absoulutely shocking the way Canadian teams run their businesses day to day ,year to year and decade to decade .This is a future hall of fame coach with a lifetime 630 winning percentage. Yes 630 , who is a total class act and they strung him along like he was a piece of dirt the last Month .Watching yesterdays pre and post game press conferences and him suffering behind the bench was hard on anyone who has a shred of decency .Canada's most popular team has not won in 55 years and never has won the Cup when the league had more then the original 6 teams .Montreal , who was the classiest team i ever seen in sports is now consistently a bottom half under achiever , I went to games as a teen on the Island in the 70s and marveled at everything about Montreal .The way they presented themselves ,the way their fans dressed and acted the proper way ,the beautiful way they played compared to other visiting teams in that era ,Guy flying up the ice with no helmet on was breath taking in person , They had style written all over themselves and even when they pounded my Islanders back then , i left the arena knowing i had seen something special and felt satisfied and hoped we could be like them someday . Ottawa ,Winnipeg and Vancouver are in constant turmoil or rebuilding ,or both .And you know when the Jets enter the playoffs somehow they will be a one and done .Calgary loses their best players all the time and Edmonton the team who once traded the greatest professional athlete ever , now , although having the two best players in the league are inconsistent half the time on defense ,still have average goal tending and up to two weeks ago were wondering if they would be in the playoffs ..The Canadian media is as bad as the English press is in Soccer , dissecting everyone daily while pretending to do it nicely , and the fans who are amazing and totally unappreciated have to live with the nonsense every season .Its no wonder they have not won a Stanley Cup in 30 years and counting and 90 % of the players in the league have mostly Canadian teams on their no trade lists ..what a shame coming from the Country that still has the most players in the league and loves the sport like no one else does or ever will .You deserve better .
Looking back, he wasn’t the right fit for the Canucks who needed a stricter yet more disciplined coach. I still don’t like HOW the Canucks let him go. Could’ve done it better with more grace but alas.
