We will look at the fix for backup feature of SNIPE-IT. Few users reported an error when they tried to use this feature of snipe-it on Windows Server with IIS, PHP and MySQL (MariaDB).
I found issue was with the folder permissions and db_dump_path.
Command used to find DB_DUMP_PATH:
cmd /c for %A in ("C:\Program Files\MariaDB 10.0\bin") do @echo %~sA

Question: I am getting a different error. I dont have anything in my Snipe IT as of yet but wanted to be sure this works. I have completed all the steps however my IE just says "Whoops, looks like something went wrong' and the tab title says Error but doesnt say anything else. However, if I refresh the browser and go back to the Backups, I see the file. Is there anyway to fix that. Its Windows Server 2016, running MariaDB10.0.38 with latest PHP.

Landon Veitch I have exactly the same issue, followed the steps closely everything seems to work fine, however when you hit generate backup it still crashes. I also tried it through the command posted on snipe it documentation and then I see a ton of errors related to an authfile and smtp. I will enable debug mode to find the issue, if you happen to have found the resolution please let me know.

Here again i have a question that if i change the physical system or my actual OS crash then i have to again complete the SNIPE-IT installation and set/options of my inventory management which i have done in previous.?? like category, location, models, status etc etc

malik aman I haven’t tested it. However, you should be fine if you backup your database and snipeit root folder. It is the same procedure of upgrading, check snipe-it documentation for upgrading.

Hi TekNex i'm getting this error " failed with exitcode 1 : General error : 'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. ."

Please double check all the steps mentioned in the video. This solutions works 100%, no other user has reported any issue.

Can you do a video on fixing importing issues. I successfully imported all my users, but when i try to do an asset import, it uploads fine and i confirm all the fields, but it just hangs on processing.

Import works fine for me. How many fields do you have in your file? Yes, I will make a video. Are you using local users or configured LDAP?

I have 12 Fields. I imported a smaller batch earlier in the week to test and it worked. I used the same template from the website for that and just added more assets to it. Now not only will the new one not import, but the one that worked at first doesn't work anymore.

Tom Cavanaugh I figured out. I tried to import data with 200 records which worked through GUI. Then, I tried with 1000 records through GUI and it struggled. We have to use command line to do this. I imported 1000 records file through GUI and processed through command line. I will share this if you would like to test it now. Otherwise, I will record a video tomorrow or day after.
