Hello! The script for this video was written before Chapter 2 came out. Due to my back pain, I took some time off from content creation and the editing process was very slow. That is why you'll notice that the editing in the second half of the video is not as good and polished like the first half. I'm sorry for that! But I just didn't feel well enough to go all in and I just wanted to finish this video ASAP. Chapter 2 reveals some new info that I didn't mention in the video, like how the Shus get their powers from counterfeit Astral Rings made by Baiji… and more. All the stuff revealed in Chapter 2 will be addressed in a future video, so don't worry about it! I just wanted to let you know why some info is not there is you were wondering.

What do you mean planet eater in venus? Didn't the cocoon do the same thing he did on earth but on venus until Vita triggered a Sea of Quanta Tsunami washing it away?

@@MbahtedjoOfficial Venus just makes the least sense, especially now that Star Rail has shown us that it's not just a Sol system issue. Izumo had their own versions of Herrschers and well.... we all know how well that went for Mei
I was just about to say the same thing. Both of them are much more than meets the eye. Chenxue, seems on surface to be a dedicated university data scientist, but her competence slowly revealing to be much more than just a person of knowledge. Like how she handled Oxia crisis with such finesse and composure, and how she smoothly negotiated with a hot headed highly trained killer aka Tsavorae on the last chapter. Also if I'm not mistaken, she has known dreemseeker since she was a tube baby. And in the last event (the cooking event) she could shapeshifted herself into a phantom. And Songque, she seems to be the most incompetent of the seven shus, like how she always depreciate herself in discussions, and how she always backdown in a confrontation. But the fact that she's the only Shu that has been awake *thoroughly* after the great eruption, and handled Lanqiu on her own seems to suggest otherwise about her competence. On top of that, she's The Shu of Deception but hasn't been shown to deceived anything, that is sus in and of itself.... And she always collapsed at the climax moment, first she collapsed in the middle of the amber street panic incident, and then she collapsed at the end of chapter 2 when they fought Tsavorae.
They already are to me outside the Shu's no one is doing anything really Chenxue and Song really move the plot along with initiative. The main cast are too confused to do much 😢 making them not interesting 😞 Making the Shu's more of the protagonist 😂😂😂 oddly.

Coralie: Is your "great Honkai eruption" this simple? Just some shadow problem? Well listen Coralie, Mars got attacked by Honkai first, Venus second, and Earth third. This means the Cocoon did different trial and errors on each planet.

Part 1 started off pretty slow but once it got going it got good(well at least until near the end where quantum physics came in then it was just real confusing). Here's hoping Part 2 follows that same path.
Thanks, I needed a Chapter 1 recap, because I was left very confused, especially about Litost. Chapter 2 was thankfully better. Something most likely just a coincidence, but a fun one: "litost" means "regret" in Czech & regret is Litost's theme because of the great sin he committed. So yeah, fun haha. The first chapter of Part 2 in 7.3 did TOO MUCH lore dumping all at once which is why I feel like the beginning got a bit slow for a while after the Senadina dance cutscene. Definitely confused a lot of new players. (A few of my friends who finally got into the game were really confused by all the Part 2 stuff) The Thelema Character Event and the next story chapter in 7.4 was A LOT better and much more enjoyable, also had a lot of great new lore about the Shu's and more. *Fingers crossed they keep on improving the story more and more.* 🤞 Thanks for the lore explanation HOMU! 👍
In playing Honkai Impact and other Mihoyo games our brains are trained to think in metaphors, and subtext, which is why we understand this Gordian knot of a story, the newbies just haven't gotten used to it. They'll eventually get there. After star Rail I have mix feeling on the word dreams being uttered.

You're mention of "Dreams" being outside of time. Reminded me of KeBin wandering through the dreams of the Honkai beast visiting Jupiter. I wonder if this is tied to the notion of a human consciousness beyond time.
Thank you as always for the recap. I don't know what it is about the part 2 lore but I love it so much and was immediately hooked. Songque is probably my favorite character in part 2. Can't wait to find out more about her in future chapters. Even though chapter 1 act 2 specifically wasn't my favorite it wasn't hard to understand for me at least. The only problem I had was with the timeline. There were just too many major events and figuring out in which order they happened was a bit confusing. Thanks for clearing it up now everything makes sense. I really can't wait for chapter 3. From what we have seen so far chapter 3 might be absolutely insane. I am both excited and terrified. I really hope that we see Ai and Vita at the end of chapter 3. I need them to finally go down there and join the team. They have been edging us for months now. Giving us a 2-minute scene in each chapter I can't take it anymore😭
Do they seriously have to mindfk us this early with regards to Lihost and doggo? I can't even remember what is happening in the current update. (I was simping too hard as Thelema's pet that the story flew past my head)

I partially skipped chap 2 and onwards because the writing lost me and I didn't think I'd care for part 2's story until they hit me in the face with a part 1 connection so now I'm desperately looking for recap lore videos to understand wtf is going on. I just hope we get some interesting backstories and lore on the main cha like Dreamseeker, Songque, Senadina, Helia, and Coralie as well as character development because that’s what made Part 1 so great so I hope Part 2 does the same.

Hm... I just noticed that all Shu methods are related to HSR Paths. Pleasure-something that brings Elation. Sacrifice-something that requires significant determination, which is governed by Hunt. Union-something that brings Harmony. Destruction- well...Destruction Falsehood and Deception-something governed by Enigmata. Gadgets-something that can be made with Erudition Coincidence or reuse of concept-we shall see.
I don't think there is any connection there. The 7 Shus are most likely inspired by the Arts of Politics and War from the Han Feizi, an ancient Chinese text.
Indeed it is inspired by Arts (Shus) of Politics and War. And the entire Mars history of different dynasties is a 1 on 1 reference to Chinese history of Dynasties (One of the Prince is literally Martian Genghis Khan lol).

Great video Homu; helped me clear up a few things I didn't fully understand. Question though: are there more Shus besides the 7 we know of? I vaguely recall someone (Songque?) implying that there were more; the 7 that we're focusing on are just the really important ones. Or I'm misremembering something...
What Songque said was that there were other people who could deal with some of the 10 Faces of Misery like the Shadow Monsters using special tools like Scudder and the Lantern organization. But in order to be a Shu you had to be able to deal with all 10 Faces of Misery. As far as we know, there are only 7 Shus.
Regarding Litost's grave sin, it was talked about briefly I don't remember when and by who sadly, will have to replay the entire story to find it but either someone assumed or said it - that Litost caused the death of all the people in Amber street, or something along those lines. My memory is very vague on this so if I'm wrong just tell me what was it about Amber street and Litost instead to fix it edit: nvm you addressed it afterwards it seems to have no connection to the grave sin that initially caused him to want to be forgotten Also great video and explanations, loved it !

So if Songque can deceive even physics, this will probably go into a stupid direction, bare with me. Since all Hoyo games seem to run parallel, can she deceive *Fate* ? Mars has already been destroyed but the way its implied by Sena at the very start of the story when Dreamseeker meets her is that it can be helped? Or is it simply to save the remaining part of the civilisation?
My question is: Mars was destroyed, so we are in a bubble world, right? Dont all bubble worlds die? How is it mars even alive? (And as far as i know ether anchors prolong a bubble worlds life, stopping it from sinking into the depths of the sea of quanta by consuming the remaining imaginary energy of the bubble world but when its depleted, the bubble world will die too).
Mars isn't alive, it's currently a desolate red waste like in real life. Bubble worlds won't die as long as its anchored to something from the proper world.
I wonder if the Hyperion 8 crew (I can't really remember what Hyperion is used for this Mars expedition) is looking for this two.i mean based on the Part 2 Trailer They dropped on Mars in a pod then interacted with the Anchor to get here, but what about the Hyperion 's perspective

That's more so funny English localization ala HI3. They confirmed in the 7.3 CN Dev Livestream when they showed the timeline for the first time that it's the same Cocoon that traveled to Mars, Venus and eventually ended up on Earth.
Btw another one interesting info who have authority of finallity can travel back in the time with dream. That mean CoF can travel back in the time just like Aeon of finallity. Buum!!!

Seems there’s always life forms. That want to destroy the entire world.. Honkai, the swarm(Star Rail), Anti- matter Legion, Kamis , and other life forms or creatures that want to destroy planets. Cause it seems, the entire universe is full of these creatures of destruction . Aeon of destruction, Honkai, finality cocoon, and other Godlike creatures that want to destroy worlds. It’s like the universe is both the creator of both creation and destruction . Some world are destroyed , a New World created from the ashes. As an example, a star dies , it turns into a new star or a black hole. either creating a new solar system or a new universe. My theory is that the creatures of destruction and gods of destructionexist to destroy , and universe just re-create whatever they destroy, creating a new star, a new planet, or even a new universe. Even though some of these worlds have been destroyed, they still exist as bubble universes meaning they were re-created, which is an endless cycle of destruction and creation . My theory is that most of the destroyed worlds eventually turned into a new universe, but billions of years in the future . but in a different universe.
Thanks for the big recap, Part 2 storytelling has been the worst experience I’ve had with this game after years of playing. It made me actually seriously consider quitting the game for the first time from how much of a bad time I was having. And now after being told about whatever happened in chapter one, I’m still not compelled to be invested in the world and the characters. It doesn’t feel like there’s an actual writer behind this story, there’s the information they came up with and want to tell to the players but they are incapable to presenting it in a compelling way that could get an audience like me invested. Compare it to the early Part 1 chapters where, although had it’s flaws, they knew how to properly present the story’s early chapters by not over complicating everything and info-dumping. They kept it simple, here’s the world, here’s the enemies, here’re our casts and we’ll show you what they’re like, not telling but actually showing. All that aside, thanks again for making this video. At least I can make a better judgement if I will keep playing or not now that I know what kind of story we’re being given here.
I think the problem with part 2 is that the way they tell you the story is so unnecessary complex and metaphorical that a lot of new and old players both confused on the story, which makes a lot of people either bored or quit the game
Comparing to chapter 1-2 of each respective part, part 2 is better even though it's complicated in the first chapter. The first few chapters of part 1 were flat, people forgot how it was. I have replayed the game twice, and I'd rather learn part 2 story.
Part 2 is still the my least favorite experience. Absolutely nothing made sense, silent protagonist, artifacts farming, treasure finding.. and just lots of nonsense. This is terrible..
Hope you back is better, really I know that back problems are serious and painfull, hope you feling better, but yeah the suscribe button of the faces of misery it seems to have spread so much, many many people and players didnt really undestood part 2, maybe because they didnt read the texts of the collectibles, or just didnt follow the story, it has many paralels with the Honkai on earth but with specifical diferences, maybe the people will see this video and finally be realease of this curse of not knowing or be confuse about the Honkai Lore
