[PART 2] - On this edition of “The Lucas Alexander Show” special series: "Remembering the Queen Of Rock - TINA TURNER - 1939 - 2023”, TINA TURNER´s Former assistant and best friend, Eddy Armani, TELLS ALL !!!!
The most candid, in-depth, fascinating, revealing and eye-opening interview about the late, great QUEEN OF ROCK `N´ ROLL, TINA TURNER ever done.
EDDY ARMANI on "The LUCAS ALEXANDER SHOW"! A 4-Part (4 hour) in-depth INTERVIEW.
This is PART 2 - the Second Hour.
EDDY ARMANI has published an updated version of his 1998 book "The Real T." in 2023. It´s now called "The Real T. & Me: Two Decades of Life, Love & Friendship with Tina Turner". It is thé most candid and personal backstage view and insight into the life of the phenomenal superstar that Tina Turner was, and the fascinating woman behind the star, known to the world.
Eddy Hampton Armani, was the biggest Tina Turner fan since the early 1960´s and fought his was way into the close circle of Ike and Tina Turner Revue, their family, their children, their backing dancers The Ikettes, Ike and Tina´s housekeepers, assistants and their musicians and even, the musicians wives. Eddy wanted a friendship with Tina Turner already as a child, and he got what he wanted and even more.
He became the first Fan Club President of the Ike & Tina Turner Fan Club in the 1970´s, worked at their infamous Bolic Sound Recording Studio and eventually got to know everyone around Ike and Tina, and saw what was really going on in their tumultuous life. 18 years of domestic violence, physical and emotional abuse, drug abuse and extreme extramarital escapades. A now epic and legendary life story, made into a Hollywood film "What´s Love Got To Do With It" (1993) based on Tina Turner´s best-seller autobiography "I, Tina" (1986) and the celebrated musical on Broadway and London´s West End: "TINA! The Musical" and several Documentary films. However, you have never heard any share stories from Tina´s life with Ike and after, like Eddy Armani.
Eddy became Tina Turner´s best friend and confidant after Tina´s dramatic break-up from Ike Turner in 1976. He lived with Tina, took care of her children, helped her on the road, in her house, became her stylist, handmade her legendary wigs, went with her to glamorous parties and traveled the world. Life with Tina was a roller-coaster ride. Not an easy life, but one of the most spectacular accounts and life-stories ever told from an insider, who became closer to the Queen Of Rock than anyone.
IN 4 PARTS of this AMAZING interview with Interviewer and Investigative Reporter, Lucas Alexander on "The LUCAS ALEXANDER SHOW", Eddy reveals extraordinary details. He is very raw, direct and particular in sharing moments of his life with Tina Turner and the people around her. And there is much more to read in his new book "The Real T & Me". His undying love for Tina is what is fueling him to go into these details and to publish this book, not to betray her, he insists. That is how he explains it, and the love for his idol is evident and clear.
TINA TURNER will be remembered as the GREATEST FEMALE ENTERTAINER IN HISTORY and the QUEEN OF ROCK! She will be missed and loved forever!

One of the main points I got from this interview was that Tina didn’t have control of her money until after her solo success. She basically had to ask for money, or borrow it, because someone had her under their thumb, even management. Meanwhile she was the main person doing all the work. I am glad she finally got to reap the rewards of her success after so many years of preserving. This is one of the reasons why people love Tina.

Yes. Infact she had no control of anything back then let alone money. One of the Ikettes once mentioned that Tina was just one of them, they were all simply employees of Ike.

I find Mr.Armani very mature and very articulate. Yes, we all should respect when we agree or disgree with one another. My favorite three projects are by her Foreign Affair. Wildest Dreams, 24/7 and the song I Don't Want To Fight No More. Thank You Mr.Alexander and Mr.Armani for this interview. I really enjoy listening to Tina's voice. Again Thank You - Jason.

Lucas, thank you for doing this! Eddy’s book is the most eye opening insight into the Tina we didn’t see. Ask Eddy his opinion on the suicide of her son Craig. I hate to say it, but there is no doubt in my mind, it is tied to Tina. I’m just shocked it was so late in life. I’m a nurse and there are situations called “trauma triggers.” If you notice, he killed himself in 2018. This is the year the play about Tina’s life opened. This was a trigger for him. He didn’t take pills. Tina told Oprah on her super soul show that he stood in front of a mirror and shot himself in the head. This is significant. I think he felt guilt over not being able to help his mother during the abuse. I don’t agree with the need for a play at that point in her life. Even Erwin said he hoped that Tina would move on and never talk about that past after the play and the new book. Even though Craig had a relationship with her, I think he felt abandoned when she left America. Even Tina told Oprah she felt Craig was lonely. Well of course!!! He was only allowed to visit once a year it seems. I believe that Tina loved her boys, but didn’t know how to love because for the first 37 years of her life, she was passed from one unloving person “her mother “, to another, “Ike.” All 4 of those boys had issues. Ike is the main cause, but Tina played a part in it too. For example, the boys would have to contact her through Roger or some agent I think from Eddys book. They all needed therapy including Tina. Eddy says he left 4 things out of the book at Tina’s request. I guarantee there is something about her hooking up with Jagger. It is rumored they hooked up behind stage on there first tour with the Stones in the 60’s. Told in a book by a person who worked with the Stones at that time. He said he came up on the 2 in the dark back stage. Lucas, can you ask Eddy about the rumor they hooked up also during that “Live Aide “ concert in the 80’s. We don’t want to hear 30 min on Ann Cain. Also, ask about Tina’s impulsive affairs with what I counted at least 10-11 men. And let me tell you something, I believe that Tina remained somewhat in love with J .Ralston. He played in her band for all those tour’s except the last one. Go on RU-vid and look at the 1993 tour performance of “private dancer”. During the saxophone solo, she walks up to R.J. and unbuttons his shirt…. You can’t tell me they didn’t hook up many times throughout the years. Honey, y’all can say there was never another man after Erwin, I don’t believe it. Somewhere around the year 2000, it was said that she had an affair with her other saxophone player Huge Groove. I believe it. I think Eddy don’t want to say, but I think she did hook up with Mark Knofler. If it’s one thing disturbed me in Eddy’s book, the fact that was she impulsive in wanting to be intimate with random men. It’s evident that she was just looking for love she never received. I’m a nurse, and I also think she may have been bipolar. Those bouts of anger. And the whole thing with that doll was very sad. She was very immature and unsettled. This comes from being so controlled by Ike. Not allowed to have friends. And obsessed with psychics. Like I say, I was never a big fan of Tina, but for some reason after her death, I became a big fan admiring what she endured and the woman she matured to be. I’ve watched countless videos and interviews. She’s the best! R.I.P.❤️🙏🏽 Oh, don’t forget to ask about Jagger.

She didn’t practice Buddhism correctly. Suicide shouldn’t have entered the picture.
@feliciaaclark
@feliciaaclark 7 месяцев назад
@@boneymadAre you saying she committed assisted suicide? I know she thought about it at one time. I don’t know anything about that practice, but I agree with you. This just further proves to me that she was unstable in her beliefs. She was constantly seeking psychics guidance. Within days of her son’s suicide, she is interviewed by Oprah. She said she felt peace that this is the way he wanted to end it. WTH woman! Your son just shot himself in the head! She was in such denial. I wish she would have sought out a true relationship with her grandchildren.

Omg omg this is soooo entertaining! I miss Tina so much. Thank you for always bringing the best Tina content. You are incredible! By the way, Ike & Tina Lived in a neighborhood that I live in myself in View Park -The area is Baldwin Hills/Windsor Hills in Los Angeles. It is not Inglewood, but it's not far from Inglewood. I went to the house before it was Remodeled and right now I only live three minutes away from the house. Baldwin Hills in those days and sometimes even now is referred to as the Black Beverly Hills. Again, though this is in the city & county of Los Angeles, it is not in the city of Inglewood where their recording Studio was located. I love & miss Tina & I adore both you & Eddy. God bless Eddy & you keep up the AMAZING work, Lucas!

35:40 I think with the Wildest Dreams album, the producers were trying to keep Tina current during the 90s having her sound and music evolve/change with the times. I like the album a lot, but I agree with Eddy, she didn’t have to do a cover of Missing You.

Eddy and I both agree, I always thought Angela Bassett was a terrible choice for Tina Though she is an incredible actress! Everyone seems to disagree but as a Tina fan, a true Tina fan, I always thought that Angela was wrong wrong Wrong and with those huge muscular arms especially! The movie would have been so much better if it had the whole truth in it! I would have casted a Tina much better and Ike for that matter. Ike was a a little man Lawrence Fishburne was huge. I believe Eddy when it comes to Roger, Tina's relationship with blacks, even Ike for that matter. She was forced to write that book I think and even forced to have that movie made in a sense. I'll leave it there because...yeah...
@edmundsishange3608
@edmundsishange3608 8 месяцев назад
Oh I'm glad you said it, Angela was horrible and looked nothing like Tina! Tina was never that masculine at any point in her life, infact she was a tiny, skinny girl back in those days. I disagree about Tina being forced to write the book, I feel she would have got to a point of wanting to tell her story eventually especially because she was tired of the Ike questions in interviews but it is possible that Roger motivated her to write it because of his commercial interests but either way I think Tina would have written the book even if much later.

Tina has stated many times in interviews that she had no script approval about the movie of her life. So, that meant the director of the movie Brian Gibson. I just do not like this director. He took Tina's past life in movie and twisted it in which that never happened, which means he added untruths in this movie. Brian Gibson will have to answer to God for the wrong doings he did to Tina's life story. God Bless - Jason

This interview was sad. Eddie appears to have a personality disorder and needs to accept that the decisions that Tina made at different stages of her life were her decisions to make and hers alone. Eddie appears as if he is Tina! Or that Tina owes him for every breath and step she took when he force his way into her life. I would ask him, could it be that you (Eddie) no longer served a purpose in Tina's life or where she wanted to go. People are allowed to change and evolve, and they are not required to take the people who (knew them when) w/ them. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you can find a path to peace and happiness WITHOUT having to use Tina's name to simply get by.

She saw him with multiple women. Why would she think she would be treated differently. While in the last years of high school, she said he bought her fancy clothes.
