PART 2 - When the Unexpected Rocked Our World! 

Even at 3 weeks old, Layla is calmed by her Daddy's voice. She is so bright and sweet. And her Mama is a warrior ❤️

Btw Evan, you did an exceptional job of taking care of your wife & your daughter! I just hope you realize that! The Lord had you there to love & protect them both & I am certain he is pleased in your works:) You showed great courage, strength & love during such a trying time & you deserve recognition for that! God will Bless you & your family for your faithfulness!

The tears in Evans eyes & the way his voice broke having to leave Carlin to take care of Layla, just broke my heart. You can see clearly that he was sooo torn:( I thank God that everyone is doing well now! The Lord has it all under control!

When Carlin thanked your family. 🥺That was really sweet! Sometimes I think we just expect and don’t appreciate our family. I just thought that was a really sweet moment.

Evan, you were raised by an awesome Mom and Dad.

They're the sweetest family. My goal is to parent like Kelly Jo and be a grandma like her, and Evans mom, too! When I had pneumonia and pleurisy, with the flu, my mother in law said "sorry, I'm not that mom," when we needed help. Our kids were 2 and 3. But that's okay, because I will be that mom. ❤️

Carlin, I have also had aseptic meningitis. I had very similar symptoms! I can't imagine what that must have been like being so sick and having your baby be in the hospital too. My heart really broke watching that. I'm so glad you all came through it! 💗

Even you did so well as a husband and a father; keeping your emotions together is difficult, especially when your significant other is in pain. I have lupus and had ascetic meningitis when I was 30. I had a 2 year old at the time. I was in the hospital a little over a week and then flat on my back for the better part of a year. The pain is unexplainable. The absolute worst pain ever and I’ve had bone marrow tests while awake. God bless you and your sweet family. The journey was never promised to be a straight line. ❤️

Awww. Thank you for sharing both videos. Getting admitted to the hospital is scary, but even scarier when the doctors weren’t sure what was wrong, and then baby Layla falling unwell. All I can say is you both handled everything so well and Evan is such a calm strong young man. Carlin and Layla have a good man to look after them. God is good and may he keep you all healthy in this very scary time.

All of this happened before I found your channel. Wow! Definitely some rough times. Evan, you are the rock to your family. I see how during these times and now with Carlin's new health issues, you have been there for all of them. You do whatever it takes to help and love your family. Truly a Godly husband and father. Carlin, I can totally relate to you not being with your baby Layla when she was so young. When our first son was born, he had problems at birth, so they flew him to a hospital an hour away. I only held him about 15 minutes before he left. Then my husband went to that hospital to be with our son and find out what was wrong. I had a sister-in-law stay with me while my husband and his brother went to the other hospital. That was over 30 years ago but I still remember how that trial brought both of us closer to each other and closer to God. Prayers for your family.

Evan, you are DEFINITELY a good Godly husband...not many would have done the things you did for Carlin & Layla. They're blessed to have you!!

Layla did look so much bigger from when she was laying on the hospital bed compared to when you got home from the hospital. Her little face filled out. She's so cute, I mean seriously adorable. I'm glad you both ended up being okay and that heartbreaking time is behind you.

I had that a year ago and it was the worst. When they did my spinal they hit a nerve so they had to try a few times before they got it right. I never want to go through that again. I was in the hospital for about 4 or 5 days. I'm so glad everything went well for you and both you are well now.

So glad Carlin and little Layla are all better. I have been where you are and the Lord just carried me through every hospital visit. I have felt God's grace just holding me together when I felt like falling apart. I thank God for your little family and pray for God's very best for you.
