I am currently rebuilding a 300TD and you have been of great help. Truly. Hope you can help me source for the nets, if ever you are re selling your old one. As well as rear hatch accumulators. Cheers bud

Great video! Have you got part numbers for the sway bars and springs you used?

I think you can just go on Google and type in 1983 Mercedes 300td wagon springs and you'll find exactly what you need. I don't know the part numbers this was over a year ago.

Do you know who manufacturered the original springs for Mercedes? I suspect it might have been Supplex as it's a german company, but I don't know.

No idea. I have used a new set from Lesjofors and it was excellent and the correct specifications. That might be swedish or finish I'm not sure. Bilstein also manufactures springs and they are a German company.

@woodsandbarclay lesjofors is indeed Swedish and they are the original spring supplier for Volvo. I know that Bilstein sells springs as well, but I don't know if they manufacture them themselves. I know Bilstein and Sachs supply the original shock absorbers for Mercedes. Thank you for your very detailed videos. I like how you really show the whole process of the repairs and how you mention the original parts suppliers. I always try to find out who the original supplier for a certain part is, but sometimes that can be quite a challenge.

I looked into it some more and I don't think Suplex is the oem manufacturer as this brand was founded in '92, and although they're a German brand I don't know if they actually produce in Germany. The oem might be Eibach or HR. Both brands produce 100% of their products in Germany. I now have both Suplex and Lesjöfors installed on my W201 and I'm pleased with the quality, although I prefer Lesjöfors as I know that all of their springs are made in Sweden :)
