Nikhila Vimal is a South Indian actor who predominantly works in Malayalam and Tamil films in addition to Telugu films. Her debut film was Bhagyadevatha in 2009 in supporting role. Her big screen debut in lead role happened in 2015, where she did the female lead in Sreebala K Menon's film Love 24x7 in which she was paired with Dileep.
She went on to appear in successful films like Aravindante Athidhikal , Njan Prakashan, Oru Yamandan Premakadha ,The Priest, Madhuram, Jo and Jo and Kotthu. She started her acting career in television in a documentary on Saint Alphonsa which was aired on Shalom TV. Her debut film was Bhagyadevatha in 2009 in supporting role. Her big screen debut in lead role happened in 2015, where she did the female lead in Sreebala K Menon's film Love 24x7 (2015) in which she was paired with Dileep.
Nikhila Vimal was born in Taliparamba, Kerala to late M. R. Pavithran and Kalamandalam Vimaladevi. Her father was retired from statistical department while her mother is a dancer. Her elder sister Akhila Vimal is a research scholar in Theater arts at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. The name 'Vimal' comes from the name of her mother.
In this three-part conversation interview, Nikhila Vimal talks about her career and how she is particular that she continues to lead a very simple life. She talks about the controversies that surround her statements and why she chooses to not engage in any debates that surround the viral statements that she has made. In the second part of the interview, we delve deeper into her personal life, the beautiful relationship she shares with her father and the difficulties that she has dealt with growing up. This is a very intense and a candid conversation, where she talks about her personal struggles from a very authentic space.

I can totally relate to her because i have a similar background. Sadly it’s not coming from good experiences or great childhood.. it’s coming from the place of childhood trauma. I know she didn’t make it seem like she suffered, but to take care of a sick parent and to take on the responsibility of a caregiver at a very young age is traumatic. I know this from my own personal experience, which is very similar to hers, I too lost my father after prolonged illness . Childhood trauma causes you to be cautious about relationships, it will make you think you’re strong as you’ve taken care of yourself all along, you’ll have trouble asking for help because you didn’t get it in many stages of your life & so you become fiercely independent, you will have major trust issues (she said many times during the interview she doesn’t know how to receive compliments & she cannot believe it when someone compliments her - trust issues), you’ll become extremely opinionated and defensive because it is a coping mechanism to protect yourself, because there was nobody to protect you, when you were a child and when you needed that protection from your parents, you were busy protecting them instead. It is very difficult to find a life partner, as you’re constantly questioning if that person will ever understand you and your family dynamics and more importantly, it is difficult to receive love from that person and the fear of getting hurt . Her father has passed away, she grew up caring for him and watched him deteriorate and then die. It induces a fear of losing someone important and also you’ve exhausted yourself so much, that relationships and love often feel like a burden. You just want to be left alone 😅

It's just a wrong concept about a relationship or marriage. It is all about respecting the differences, it is not about just obeying what your partner tells you.
