I can actually answer the wire gauge question, having gotten into that with my own build. Ideally you want a 16AWG power cord, to handle the A/C current going into the transformer. The high-voltage wiring *inside* the machine is most likely 18AWG, but you do want the thicker gauge for the main power supply. Annoyingly, most standard power cords you'll find around the house are also 18AWG, which I would (ideally) refrain from using. I mean, it'd be totally fine for a while, just not a long-term solution for a pinball machine. (Fun thing: Whenever I see someone throwing out their washer or dryer, I go snap off the power cord with the plug attached, because that baby is 16AWG, good for all kinds of home electronics shenanigans!)

Blown fuse on first power up, most likely was the high voltage for the display.

Well was going to say I saw a fuse blow but looks like some of the other eagle eyed viewers already called it out..Handles look much better. Cool to see it coming along!

A fuse blew on the display board during the first boot you did. Could still be the issue you were thinking with the HV circuit though.

@@pinballshenanigans there's 2 thoughts i instantly have: I know your guy did that board, but that one section is still looking pretty sketch... That might have done it but it's more likely THIS: There is a design flaw with a generation of WPC DMD boards... in the bottom right corner of that board, the screw that goes into it can ground / short a trace that the put too close to it. Take out THAT screw and if you have a nylon screw, use that. if you don't, just make sure that corner isn't screwed down for now or the trace will touch the metal standoff. See if it makes a difference. If it does, you can eventually get a nylon screw and / or put some electrical tape over the trace that is touching the metal of the standoff in the bottom right. Maybe this is it, maybe not, you let us know.
