Hi, i would love and need a part 4. Thank you.

Part 4 would be great, in the process of looking at different wind generators, but your one looks just the job. I am interested in what amount of solar system can the controller take. Thanks for making the videos.
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 17 дней назад
I can't remember but I think it is just over 50 panel voltage and 800 watts of solar. The wind generator runs on a separate circuit. I did part 4 a while back
@davidwilliams6067
@davidwilliams6067 17 дней назад
@@TonysTractorAdventure I’ll be interest in knowing how that runs. I contacted the company and asked about connecting my 1100w 24A Solar to the hybrid and they advised me not too and to look for an alternative. But your 800w 12v system must produce 65A and mine only 46A let’s hope my confused brain is the problem. You did save me even more problems by mentioning that if the wind generator has no load it would destroy itself, as my solution to my problem was to run two separate circuits to the same battery with an On/Off switch thank goodness I saw part 4. Many thanks.

I'm intrigued by this turbine. But also skeptical about how much power it can output. I hope you show it in another video.

Awesome, great install. My main concern is for longevity, all those plastic parts on the turbine, sitting out in the sun all day, everyday, for years, can't be good. Yes I would love to see P-4.
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 7 месяцев назад
Plastics are integrated within our world. Vinyl siding is used throughout the world on homes. Nothing can last forever. Is this generator is reasonably priced I feel pretty good about it. It's actually quite heavily built with only the turbine blades being plastic. The entire generator housing is metal.

SWEET.. Nice to see it up and working. Add a 2nd one to the other end of the greenhouse. BUT make some real energy and get a 100 or 1500 turbine. Guess the wind turbine, controller and the load dump (lol) are new products.. They appear to be selling them with some panels for a 1000w kit. As I mentioned before I have a couple of 400w turbines and the cheap one that comes with them have no display and can't be configured. Plug n pray.. Guess I'll contact them. Speaking of them.. they sent me a version 2.0 of their tracker controller. I'm NOT liking it. I posted a video about it.

These small turbines are a great solution for sheds, sailboats etc. Solar is only half the year, wind is all the time (here!) Even if the output is low, it's steady, like a dripping tap will overflow your bath in a week if you get me. Thanks as always for taking the time to make and post.

Part 4 of most wind-turbine installs goes something like, "why the heck did we spend so much time and money putting this stupid thing up when it never makes more than about 25% of what it's rated to generate??" What most folks think is "windy" - is nowhere near enough constant wind velocity for a turbine to produce much. When you crunch the numbers, adding more solar is almost always a most cost-effective way of generating the electricity you need.
@TonysTractorAdventure

I appreciate your opinion. Our property is on the edge of a large open field, so we keep it turn often. Having said that, anyone who think they can run their system off of a 400watt max turbine, doesn't understand the purpose. The wind turbine is to complement solar. Cloudy days tend to be windy.

That ground wire doing the switchbacks, should be shortened and re-bonded. Ground wires should be as short and straight as possible. Having it go back and forth like that, could allow arcing that could very quickly melt through the copper and break the bond. Def want to see part 4! I'm guessing it won't put out a whole lot, except under really fast winds.

I understand your position, but we are leaving the opportunity to upgrade at a latter date. I am ok with it. If it ever gets hit with lighting, I think the system will be toast anyway.
@m9ovich785
@m9ovich785 7 месяцев назад
Sorry for the late post Tony... Just for future reference. Lightning is like RF, it does not like to turn corners. Keep the path as straight as possible. Keep the turns no more than say the Diameter of large Coffee Can. Your connection at the pipe and at the Ground rod could be a point of Failure should a direct strike hit it. That Genny Head is a 3 Phase Alternator. Very efficient. I wonder what the Vibration of that is ?? I am going up 120 ft with my Comm Tower to get above the Tree line at my Place. And I'd have to side mount it off the side of the Tower so It can still can rotate. Watch market place or Craigs list for People getting rid of TV towers for cheap.. Thanks Much... Mike M.

You may want to take that heater coil and move that to the right on the other wood there in the video. Having it close to that board that extends out above could cause a fire if the heat from that impinged that board to long. Also, wood over a period of time may pyrolysis with exposure to heat.

Thank you Tony, I have an off-grid cabin that uses solar for electricity. The cabin is pretty windless but I built a shop that is higher in elevation and has plenty of wind which needs power. I'm trying to plan this out. The cabin has a 48 V system and I would also like a 48 V system at the shop.

Thank you. Please understand this is only a 400 watt maximum output. Even on its best day it can run about 3-100 watt bulbs as long as the wind is blowing wide open. I think it makes a great compliment for solar systems. The days that are cloudy seem to be windy.
@zeroninejames9507
@zeroninejames9507 7 месяцев назад
@@TonysTractorAdventure yeah, that 3-400 watts be good to charge my setup. I gave 1000w mpp solar all in one charger/inverter with a 100ah lithium battery with 3 300w hf solar panels. My second setup is the rich solar 20a mppt controller with 8 25w solar panels from the hf kit. So that extra watts would help at night or weather permitting. Thanks.

I just got one of these exact same systems for my greenhouse. Plan on running two chinese diesel heaters with it and some watering automation / wifi monitoring of temps and moisture levels. You are the first I've found to use the same system and to use in the same application, basically. Perfect timing before I install mine. Any plans to add more solar or batteries to the system eventually? I'm curious to see how your solar tracking works out, too.

I'll be really interested, in annual output numbers. How much power is generated, and for the cost of the turbine and components how much solar that same money would buy, and which over time gives the most output per $, remembering solar modules can be good for 20-25 years with no moving parts. All the research I've done and seen indicates it is a rare location (in general) that generates enough wind, consistently enough to make the cost of the components and ongoing maintenance worth it, especially compared to the same amount of money if spent on solar. Not to mention, other than in advertisements, are turbines mounted that low. To be worth it, they need to be fairly high (like 70 feet +) to be in consistently clear wind. Will it produce power, when it is windy.. of course. Is it consistent enough, and at the right speeds to be worth it,, especially if only at rooftop height? rarely, at least if buying it completely out of pocket.
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 7 месяцев назад
I think you may have misunderstood what my intentions were for this system. We installed it to have power at our greenhouse. There will not be a continuous pull, but it's nice to have the lights when I need them. It will run the fan some in the summer. The wind turbine is just part of the solar system. It complements it but it's not meant to power the whole system. As a rule of thumb, cloudy days are windy. I don't think we will use the system enough to get any kind of real readings other than spot checks here and there. If it powers the greenhouse in the way we need then it's a win.

Just curious how much watts the turbine brings in in a 24 hr perioud. Im in panhandle of texas looking at alot of wind turbines since the wind is always blowing. But can you do a review for 24 hour period. Thank you for your commitment to show people the hooking up and products that you are choosing.
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 7 месяцев назад
The wind turbine puts out of maximum of 400 watts if all conditions are perfect. I have never seen it put out that much with our wind level. I am sure at times that it will, but this is part of a solar system. The wind turbine compliments the solar system. It is not meant to power the entire system.
