I could live in that. It's almost as big as my apartment. If I don't like the neighbors I can just drive away or drive through their home in anger like an action hero in the movies. Maybe mount a big gun on top for extra bling and for those "just in case" times I might need it for personal protection or for hunting squirrels. I have that same bed frame and bought it for the same reason why you got yours. I have a few plastic totes with my worldly possessions under it.

Great Job!!! Those giant angle iron running down the wall with holes in it was simply use to secure things like work benches to the truck without having to drill holes or screws in the floor! looks awesome. I wouldn't have thought of using a bed frame as a storage area!

Very cool! My Grand Dad used to buy hearses and ambulances and modify them for camping. Your vehicle is slightly more roomy lol. Enjoy!

Looks nice! If I had a van truck like that, I'd do similar, but I think I would've used cots instead of an actual bed, just so I can fold them up and out of the way and add a folding table with a couple folding chairs. I did a similar set up like I mentioned in an old camper I remodeled for my uncle. I also put down some carpet remnant on the floor with a small section of vinyl flooring in front of the door. It turned out real nice and was real roomy for 2 adults or an adult with 1 or 2 children. Usually when I go camping, it's during deer season so my son will come with me and occasionally a buddy will come up for a night or two. That said, I do like how you set up your truck, so I'm curious to see how well it works out camping in the future, especially for a week or so. Another plus side to this, if things go bad, you have a mobile home, lol.

Literally more square feet than my old apartment. Very nice "no build" rig.

That deck is Screaming for polyurethane. I like the light green walls etc, but some black accent paint around the edges would really finish things off. Great Truck, Great Job👍🇺🇸👍

Truck looks great I keep most of the original painting everything in the inside and if you put any carpet down use marine grade carpet something that you know doesn't hold moisture make the floor rot or anything. Keeping it simple which is great.

The Dometic refrigerator is the choice of most sailors. Dometic is a German company which bought Hadley Barber a few years ago. They use the Danforth 35f ac/dc compressors. I had one on my Endeavour 37 and liked it a lot. This RV build is quite similar to to a boat.

Thanks. A nice start. I'm looking forward to the next stages: fresh water tank, grey water tank, plumbing, water pump, batteries, solar, LED lighting, propane, furnace, roof vents, insulation, floor covering etc.

you should get a piece of sheet vinyl flooring and staple in down around the edges and caulk it in for flooring. it's easy to do.
@james_chatman

But is that a wood bed floor? If so I would go with staining the floor and painting the walls. Not my truck though.

Nice!!! Really enjoying this project. Have you considered putting down something like 5/8" tongue and groove OSB on the floor? That would help smooth it out a bit, and then your could put some vinyl flooring or maybe carpet down. That current floor would quickly destroy vinyl flooring where you walk on it. Agree with the comment below about moving the front 4x4 back a little as toe kick space.

The old patina look is kinda nice in my opinion though it would be neat to open the door of an old military vehicle and see a luxurious cabin inside. At the very least I would try to level the floor and then refinish it. The wood appears to still be in good shape. It just needs some help.

You might want to push the front four by in a few inches to create a toe kick / kick space under the cabinets?

I think maybe you ought to have clips or straps to tie the bed frame to the wall so it's not permanent. You could attach some strap mounts to the wall at the level of the rails.
