In this third and final episode of the tank car project for the 7.5" gauge railroad flat car, I paint the tank car and complete the final assembly including decals and securing hardware. I discuss how I marked each part for reassembly, and considered assembly order to prevent scratching the paint during the process. I also demonstrate how I applied the large adhesive vinyl decals (purchased online). Paint was Rustoleum 2x paint+primer "Real Gloss Orange" and "Gloss White." The painted orange looks a little lighter than the decal despite spending hours down rabbit hole looking for a match. They make a Chevy Orange high temp engine paint that has more red but seemed too red.

Shop gnomes and floor spirits work together to make an easy job harder. I really like this project. Thanks for sharing.

This stuff is awesome. You should definitely show your railroad layout.

Thanks! Next week I'll upload an episode where we take it to Train Mountain. It's way bigger and better than anything I could fit in my yard so we just go there!

Just a thought. You need a foot step at the bottom step of the ladders so someone coming down the ladder has a platform to stand on and not the flatcar’s deck between the horizontal support. 🤓
