Hey there! Welcome to a 3-part mini-series on fixing transmission whine in a Polaris RZR PRO XP or XP TURBO! The machine we are working on today is a 2020 PRO XP, but the process is the same on any PRO XP or XP TURBO.

I just finished replacing all the bearings and seals in my 900xp ranger. The gears had a decent amount of wear but didn’t look too bad. Took a chance with them and I have these exact same symptoms, after replacing all the bearings and seals. Guess I need to go back in for the gears. SMH

Ugh, that's awful. I was tempted more than once to skip replacing certain items, but I really didn't want to have to do the job again! It seems that if the bearings wear down to a certain point, it allows for the wear on the gears, and it's game over from there. Or maybe the gears wore down first, then the bearings. In either case, I'm so glad my whine noise is gone. It was terrible! Hopefully you're able to take care of yours soon too! Thanks for watching.

Geese my 2019 rzr turbo only goes to 96 that's crazy

Yes, it felt like a lot! I verified it in the 2022 service manual just to be safe, but that's definitely the spec! So far so good though. No issues and the transmission is still quiet. Thanks for watching!
