As an academic in the sciences who has just begun his journey into orthodoxy this year, these talks between one of my professional heroes (Vervaeke) and senior members of the church have been so incredibly useful to improve my understanding. I still have a long way to go, but I am beginning to see things more clearly with the help of these collaborative productions by SPOTS. I pray that they may continue.

These conversations are so incredibly life giving. Literally inspired the title of my book and help me delineate even the order of the chapters. Thank you to all who make these possible!

I’d also say the following: it seems to me that the union of the two natures and the healing of adversarial opposition was accomplished in Christ certainly, but specifically in “Christ’s life lived.” This is to say, if adversarial opposites are to be reconciled in our own time, they must be reconciled firstly in our own lives. This is only possible if and when one lives like Christ - for his life is the only which achieved atonement. Naturally, we cannot will ourselves into Christ’s life. The good news is that because he is God, he gives us power and his Spirit to, indeed, live a life that is filled with “reconciling power” as our father Paul says. Indeed, by his mercy and according to his great joy, one of life’s great sources of meaning is to become an agent of reconciliation - first, over our own selves (microcosomos), and then reality itself (macrocosmos) for the life of the world.

32:34 “If I were to be a Christian, I would be an Orthodox Christian for A lot of the arguments that have been articulated here” Is a Christian one who self-identifies with ideas that they like or think are true? This is the further question behind the approval or disapproval of what Dr. Vervaeke said here. Original vs FinalParticipation in Barfieldian terms.
