In this video i go through all the necessary steps to screen print a t shirt at home easily and quickly. I use PhotoEZ screen printing sheets available at the link above. All the supplies I use are available in the Kits sold at their website.
I have used this method to start my own business, putting custom designs on products to sell online on Ebay and Etsy. It is a very easy way to make money online.

My mind was just blown by how simple you made this look. i never thought something so complex as that image you used could be done so easily and quickly. This give my courage to try it for myself.

I did a couple screen prints in art class in high school. For those of you questioning Nate,YES,what he is doing is RIGHT and will work 100% and YES people,you can wash the shirt. I mean..WHY would you do something to a shirt you want to wear only to NOT be able to wash it? Good simple video for a very barebones method of screen printing.

This is super cool. I am considering doing this because the freezer paper method i use is INCREDIBLY messy and doesn't look as professional as I would like (although I have several shirts that came out REALLY NICE). Though i won't buy the kit, (I'm into making things on my own) I will for sure use this method. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO.

the question that's important to me is, how long does the design last after washed and dried multiple times. treating it as if its a store bought shirt?
@paulinabastos4206
@paulinabastos4206 7 лет назад
if you use specific ink for screen printing on fabric it lasts just like a store bought tshirt since it's not waterbased.
@mkidd655

I thought he used waterbased?

Maile Navarro water based inks wash out, no matter how you heat set them, and regular screenprint ink , plastisol, is not water soluble .

Trust me if your planning to persue this market and plan on selling to strangers and such, your going to need the detail
@Seemsayin
@Seemsayin 9 лет назад
Wuaff Trust me if your planning to pursue this market and plan on selling to ANYONE, your going to need professional equipment & actually know what you're doing. Taping a stencil to a shirt and dumping ink on it is a disaster waiting to happen. If you're lucky enough to remove the stencil without smudging your print or spilling/dripping ink while putting it back into the container, try reapplying the already-inked stencil on another shirt, and not have it smudge. You also better make sure that your ink doesn't get underneath the tape, just in case you're not good with the taping process. And don't lay the screen back down if you didn't get good ink coverage. The chances that the screen will rest in its previous position are about a million to one. Multiple colors? Multiple screens. Good luck aligning them. Considering how long it takes to make 1 shirt, as well as the cost of the material, I would consider this a losing venture. Great for fun & learning, but nothing else. Unless he's got nothing better to do, how can this guy possibly make a ton of extra cash with a process like this? Is he charging $30 per shirt?
@MrFcruz04
@MrFcruz04 9 лет назад
It depends on your design mister, if the design is good then your good. also that's why you tell people how to wash the shirt so the design is not lost on a first wash
@Seemsayin
@Seemsayin 9 лет назад
francisco cruz You don't have to call me, "Mister". We're pretty informal around here. I print t-shirts commercially. If we had to wash t-shirts before printing them, we'd be out of business. The only way ink will wash out of a shirt is if the ink is not cured. Washing the shirt prior to printing is a waste of time & laundry detergent.
@MrFcruz04
@MrFcruz04 9 лет назад
look at you tag in any shirt and see if it makes sense to you know, there is a lot of people who what their clothes before they wear them. you should be able to since your work and tumble dry it... every company washed their clothes before selling it to you, that you don't know is your own business.

What "Nate" doesn't share with you here is that he is using silk screen "stencils" and only a couple of companies carry them. They cost $10 bucks a pop per 8.5x11" size sheet. But "Nate" doesn't care enough to tell you that. He tells you they are "emulsion sheets", which they are not. Emulsion Sheets are used on framed silkscreens and they are a lot cheaper per sheet ($2.50). I wonder how many people purchased actual emulsion sheets before they realized thats not what "Nate" is using and they just wasted their money because "Nate" doesn't know WTF he is talking about. Thanks "Nate"!

OMG, Are you kidding me? This is how not to print tee shirts. I would have printed over 1,000,000 shirts in a factory in my life and now I do print on demand with my own business. I would never do a start up business with this type of printing. Buy a carousel in the first place. Sure it costs money. Buy good squeegees. They cost money also. You have to pay money to start up a business. Don't rely on just a hair dryer. A hair dryer won't reliably cure your ink (or paint as he says). Anyone that says that ink is paint isn't a printer. To start up in printer you will need at least a paint dryer (for drying in winter (at home)) and then for curing the inks you will need a heat press in winter. You will need a heat press at all times when starting up as a printer or a start up business or small time printer. I used an old Singer heat press when I worked for a motorcycle shop so you can use these for medium productions also. You don't need a $20,000 machine that uses 15 Amps and as lot of foot space to do it though. I have a couple of different heat presses, some for shorts or mugs, plates or whatever but I only turn on one at a time. Simple small business. Start small and build up. Just use your head. :)
