In this episode of building a large post frame workshop, I start by showing our permanent corner bracing details and then we get right into installing metal roofing. On a large post frame such as this, with only two guys, the metal roofing is quite an undertaking and conditions need to be just right.

I read the entire Ryan’s ru-vid.comUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans and was able to make a shed plan. Using Ryan’s Shed Plans alone, the shed itself is great. Where I wish I knew more is with respect to ground preparation and foundations. Maybe that's beyond the scope of Ryan’s Shed Plans.

Walls 20 feet high (240") and 120 feet long (1440") ... 3/16" lean error sounds pretty good! My wife and I started 18 months ago as homesteader newbies, and the first thing we did was build a post-frame 20'x40'x12' barn (entirely by ourselves) for tractor and other tools. EVERYTHING we learned, to do that job, was from watching this channel! Thanks Kyle!

I love how this building absolutely dwarfs the original one. It's just a beast. Any armchair carpenter who says you don't swing hard enough on those monster nails should see how far they can get doing the same. Thanks for sharing!

Wow! Between your joist engineer/manufacturer and your building techniques, the drone shots tell the end of the story. There is no denying that everything is as square and plumb as possible. 👍👍👍

Hi Kyle great job you make it look way to easy. As an electrical contractor going on 46 years the building process is still really amazing to me. At 64 now I am looking at retiring the wire cutters but I feel great and think as long as the old bones still work I will keep going at it. The constant learning curves that we all must keep up with in regards to the trades I feel keeps the mind strong. Strong mind strong body rite? The builder/carpentor, the plumber and of course the very most important trade the electrician ha ha keep the world moving forward. Again love your vidios and your workmanship. Thanks for letting all of into the process. GOD BLESS

As Jimmy Diresta says "if it LOOKS straight it IS straight" Case in point, a doorframe was not plumb, so we had to install the conduit for a switch next to the door the same, otherwise the conduit would look out of plumb

Good video. You referred to the bottom cord of the truss as being elevated. You have a sissor truss. An interesting fact about sissor trusses is that the span (width) is going to grow as the truss is loaded. The structural engineer that designs the trusses can tell you about how much the truss is going to move as it is loaded. In your building you can probably see it if you sight down the ridge of a newly completed building. You will almost certainly see a sag down the ridge. The trusses at the ends of the building are supported by poles and the sissor trusses sag under the load. I learned this the expensive way as the GC while building a large church building. The movemenet required reframing a lot of the interior details as the trusses sagged and widened as the load of roofing, insulaton, drywall, etc., increased and the building shape changed.
