By using lines started by using charcoal or a paint brush, you give your painting a starting place to begin to play. I show how I use a pencil, charcoal, several paint brushes of different sizes to mark off my canvas. I then play back and forth between lights and darks to give contrast for a pleasing visual. I hope you like the video. I end the video with some sample paintings where this technique is used.
