These teachings go smoothly when listening at night, or around dusk. It reminds me of the time comments i have heard about the long passing a-long, might also just be the attachment to time playing a part. There is always an aspect of it, when every one has a clock in their hand.

Yes, Lama Lena always gives pointing out instructions when she teaches. You may not realize when she is giving it, but she always does give it. You can practice Dzogchen with these teachings, however, some teachings require an actual Lung or Transmission when they are taught by a particular teacher. Sometimes that Lung is required to be able to do a particular practice.
Also, it is considered direct introduction when you are watching the teaching in "real" time. There is still not enough known about whether direct introduction is transmitted through videos. The jury is still out on that. One must ask, "which jury?" :)
