This panel looks amazing, sounds like a fun project! Where do you get the hardware for this? Specifically the XLR/data/quarter inch jacks that you attach to the panel? I’m looking into making something like this.

For LOCAL I/O > 9-12, is there a punch in that shape, or was the hole punched first then nibbled out the rest of the way? Or something else

Also - how do you like the CATapults? Are they quiet? Also I was wondering if those ethernet cables happen to go through a switch or router, I would think it would be incompatible done in that way since it's analog signal and not data sent over IP

the analog RJ-45 (17-20, 21-24) can't go through any kind of networking router or switch, if you plug it in you'll just be greeted with lots of loud buzzing and pops. its actual audio that's being ran through. so he's literally just using the wires in the cat-5 cables instead of using a normal snake

I’m in the process of creating a custom on the go studio cart and I’d love to communicate with you as to what it would look like to have something like this attached to my cart.

At 11:10, you start attaching spacers with some sort of cable tie holders? Looks good! Do you have a brand or link?

The cylindrical part is called a “standoff”. This is a threaded tube that is designed to offset circuit boards etc.. I am using 4/40” screws, so I am using 3/4” tall standoffs threaded for 4/40” screws. The standoffs attach to the back of the screws holding the connectors to the panel. The plastic parts are called “cable saddles”

You mention unbalanced to balanced inputs, how would you connect these in terms of wiring? I'm looking to include unbalanced in my setup for instruments and guitar pedals etc but I'm wanting to avoid noise and hum problems; as far as i can tell the best route is to go TRS for everything but how should I wire the TS connector to a TRS cable? New video idea?

You would have to make a TS - TRS adapter cable if you were using a traditional 1/4” patch bay. It’s easy to make: the cold and ground are wired together on the TRS side of the cable. I wired the 1/4 jacks on my local panel in that way. I wanted to be able to use pedals as inserts and or plug a bass or guitar directly into the console. Works perfectly. Happy to make a video on it!!
