That 8 part series training Frieda and Efgie was a good lesson for us that know nothing about training. Glad I was able to see the difference a few months and a lot of hard work by the horses and trainers made.

Eefjie is a big horse and has a typical Friesian gate, but Frieda is more slight but has a gorgeous fluid movement. Very forward going and lots of scope. She doesn't move her front end in a typical breed way, but is all the more beautiful and special for it. I predict great show prospects for her.!

Oh wow!! Frieda did SO well. Even with the whip on the wood trying to distract her. I feel like her neck was tucked so tight (besides being made like that) is she is so proud to be home pulling a cart like she's seen other of her herd doing it from the meadows as they passed by. The slow motion showed her BEAUTIFUL gait. Each front hoof hitting the ground in sink with the opposite back hoof. Her slow motion video was the best I've ever seen of any cart pulling videos! Thank you so much even for sharing this with us. You got it all in just in time before Covid hit!

Thanks for putting the videos in chapters, like a good book, wherein I can't wait to dog-ear the page for my next reading. It is very exciting to learn about the Friesians genetics and training. Frieda's chin tending to rest against her chest gives her a regal bearing even though a short neck has to have the muscles re-trained for other tasks. Her short neck complements those long, dancing legs when she's trotting outside; she lifts them so high in perfect harmony. My guess is that inside that regal head of hers, she's thinking, "I'm all that. Watch me dance!" Yvonne, if you were riding Frieda, Queen Uniek would say, "Hey, me first!" ~(Cher Antulis)

I told a friend that in your stallion inspection videos I had seen several with all 4 feet off the ground at the trot - and now Frieda just proved it! She is so elegant when she moves out with assurance - her conformation is beautiful to see... and her butt does swing!

Frieda seemed to do a bit better than Eefja, steadier and calmer, except for when Rein made noise to see how she would react. But she recovered quickly. I hope you are all staying healthy amid the Corona virus.

And they started were correctly, so when do bring them back into light work, they already have tube proper training and it will be nothing to get them driving again. Being careful of how much work you do, because of the age that they finish growing and developing at. She looks beautiful! Best Regards from Ontario, Canada, Jenn.

She is gorgeous and doing an amazing job. Pulling a weighted cart on dirt at a slow pace is creating more drag so she is using her muscles by bringing her head down to pull harder. As she acclimated to the pull, she is able to go faster, which creates more flow of speed and not as much weight is dragging behind. Then you see her head is able to stay more stabilized until she has to use more muscle in harder turns. When she is on firm ground the carriage will glide more freely causing much less weight pull and she glides easily with it.

They are both doing amazing. It seems to me like Frieda has a bigger stride (or its the camera that makes me see it like that?). Eefje though seems to be caring some amazing genes of the royal couple Uniek and Jasper. That's what I like about your heard there is something special about everybody. I have a few side questions that are sparking my curiousity: Did Uniek get pregnant this year? Did Eefje also become a star mare? Is Eefje also expecting to have a foal in 2021? Are you planning to keep any of the stallions to show in the expection and maybe breeding with other mares? And can you tell us some more about Freke, Reintje's mom? Thank you a lot! Yes it does seem she dips her head to her chest to compensate for something. If I were a horse with blinkers on and two straps laying down my back, what would I be trying to do? See the ground, because my eyesight was bad, dizzy, my way of controlling my fear?? Who knows, Nervous tic. I look at the ground when I’m determined to do something and don’t want distractions but unfortunately I’m not a horse. Life is be good for these fillies and I wish I could talk “equine” Lol. 😊💕

So much fun to see Frieda doing so well. I do have a couple of questions. Does the cart have a braking mechanism? Does anyone know approximately just how much a horse is able to see with blinders? Thanks for answers from any body who might have some knowledge.

Thank you! Yes there is a braking system on the card. With the blinders they can not see anything coming from behind. Only in front of them. 😄❤️

Frieda also did very well. The wagon is easy to pull once it gets moving and Frieda looked to have a very smooth gait. She did well to ignore the scary car. She will be another fine mare for the future. Will you take Frieda and Eefje to be judged later this year?

A number of years ago I went to a place called The Old Bedford Village in Bedford Pennsylvania USA. This was an oval shaped gravel and dirt road that ran around the town with reconstructed and restored buildings both residential and businesses such as a blacksmith shop and a gun maker on both sides of the street. You could ride on a large wagon pulled by a Belgian horse and her colt was fastened to her one side so when she walked he walked, I asked about that and the reply was that this is how they trained the young horse to behave and attached to his mother he would have followed her anyway. This was a quiet pleasant non-stressful way of teaching that young horse.

Frieda is a BEAUTIFUL horse. Watching this 2020 video, it's hard to believe that so much time has passed that she is a mem (mom) now. [to the colt, named Tsjerk, born 6/6/22]. I love her long, noble neck; and, when she trots, it looks like she is walking on air. She's obviously quite smart, and a quick learner, too. Frieda is a very fine Friesian horse indeed. I just love her! 👁❤Friesian🐎🐎🐎!

Wow Frieda has lovely natural suspension. She will develop into a beautiful carriage horse. I wish we had more Friesians here in Australia. There aren't very many and they are very expensive to buy. I am old and don't ride anymore but for many years I owned a beautiful black draft stallion which I drove and worked snigging. Now I would like a carriage horse to go shopping with. I would love a Friesian mare for my shopping horse! 😁🤗

Yes we want the horses to learn to stretch a litte more. But for Frieda this is her natural way of moving so it's not to bad. She can learn in future 😄❤️

I think these horses just love pulling the cart. They trot so merrily. It’s like they believe it’s what they are meant to do naturally and I guess that would be true. I think they prefer to pull the cart rather than being ridden. So proud she is.

Frieda doing it great, too. Both did learn so much in a short period of time. And a vacation to ease down the skills is great... I think, the head carriage is the effect of the Spanish horse, which was used to refine the Frisian horse in the past. You can see it shines through sometimes more or less depending on the horses (it's just my opinion). 😊🐎 Nowadays they weren't any race impurities, besides of the Friesan Arabian. But it stands for itself now. It's an own breed since 1970... What do you think of these breed?! May I ask you specific questions?! I hope it is okay. How high is the inbreeding factor of your horses?! And do you implicate these factor, which horse you will choose for your breeding program? Thank you for the great videos... 👌🏻🌼🍀🐎

Veel fans van Frieda hier. Ze is prachtig en dat 4 hoeven van de vloer, ik wist niet eens dat dat kon, wat gaaf! Ik ben echter toch meer fan van Eefje. Eefje is een rank elfje, Frieda een mooie schuddekont :)
