I LOVE THEM A GMT400! I have had one my whole life I’m 37 now! Currently I own 3 PICK UPS OBN SUBURBAN... All perfect... And yes their is a 6.5TD in the mix...
There's 5 reasons for getting a truck in America. 1) *It's a work truck,* and you likely favour reliability and tow/hauling capacity. Mine is a crew cab, with an 8-foot bed, a canopy full of gear, and I tow a landscaping trailer every day. 2) *It's a family vehicle,* and you need something that can tow your camper for summer vacation trips, or to pick up a piece of furniture. Utilitarian, and not so big that you can't squeeze it into a parking stall at the grocery store. 3) *Toy hauler.* Splurge on the bells and whistles so you can haul your home away from home with all the comforts of home. 4) *Off-roading.* Jacked suspension and off-road tires, meant to climb, not tow. 5) *Status symbol.* Jacked suspension optional, bypassed computer likely, rolling coal, stacks and truck nuts to compensate for the fact that you have an over abundance of testosterone, the personality of a brick, and you don't care who has to breathe it. In Europe and Asia, pickup trucks are pretty rare, and if you have one, it's probably for work, and no bigger than you need it to be.
If you don’t mind me asking how is the truck still holding up I’ve built mine to haul and haven’t put it to the test yet but I’m assuming it will do great.
@@AndraeTaron I love how you put the truck to work and prove haters wrong a lot of ppl underestimate the 6.5 diesel but yours is living proof they work🔥🔥
@@TexasWashIA I tow a 20' landscaping trailer every day with mine. 98 Chevy 3500 dually, with the 6.5L Detroit diesel. The one thing I'd recommend with these duallies older then 2015 is to get a good set of towing mirrors, because you can't see past your own ass with those dinky little stock mirrors.
Well guys I ended up selling my 6.5 I put hella money into the build and it wouldn’t stay cool and it kept running funny I think the block was cracked.
I can not fathom why these duallies even come with stock mirrors. You can't see past your own ass with them. First thing I did with my 98 when I bought it was invest in a good set of 2015 style towing mirrors, 'cause the stock mirrors are absolutely useless on duallies.
Not even close buddy just literally watched with my own 2 eyes a 6.5 turbo diesel pull 26k pounds and 454 would not even come close I could link the video if you would like to see it
The 7.4L/454 was 230-290 HP/385-410 TQ but the 6.5L was 185-210 HP/350-450 TQ. It's obvious that the one with a bit more in torque will absolutely be proficient. It just amazes me about the reputation that these engines got and about them being "underpowered" which is just pure blasphemy, that would be the 6.2L in terms of power. The 6.5L's are more powerful towards their later years than the big blocks and literally are on the same tier as the Cummins 6BT.
