Why is Biren Singh still holding onto his seat? Many people were killed and injured, many houses were burnt down and properties were destroyed. How can anyone be so stone hearted like this?
I don't think the kukis will go and settle in imphal anymore so the only solution as per my opinion is that biren singh must step down or the hill be given separate autonomy. It will be very hard for the victims to forget the incidents from both sides. Let the central take the steps conscientiously to settle at the earliest.

Main reason for population increases in valley/imphal reason of Manipur : Because of availability of good Educational institution, good road, better health care, 99% of Govt. Institute/office's in valley reason..... If good health care, educational institutes, govt. institute/office, better road were given to hilly reason then the population growth in valley can be controlled easily.

Being Naga from Manipur I have lots of meitei friends and they are not happy calling them Hindu and they even said that their religion is different from Hindu but suddenly now they're claiming that they are Hindu🤦♂️ why the sudden change? Is it to get mercy from the outside Northeast? I wonder why people are very much active in all these destruction instead of having a sense to live in peace/to bring peace. From my opinion I think it is mostly due to the excessive unemployed youths in the state and the central government (BJP) should be blame since due to the coming of BJP in power unemployment rate is going high.
Spot on on unemployment issue. Hence the question of ST/SC quota, should we change the ST/SC reservation for a family once they have reached certain income or wealth. Otherwise ST/SC will be driving 30-40 lacs car whilst not paying taxes and able to buy land in all big cities whilst general ppl will be stuck on same income level or sometimes worst off.

Not a manipuri going to shillong and staying that is not shelter, as an Indian any Indian can go in any part of India and stay according to the state laws etc. Like rent, work,. Giving shelter to refugees for a long time causes economic loss of the country. The govt. Might provide sufficient in the beginning but as a human we want more. Do you think the immigrant will just sit and wait for the govt to give them dal, rice, clothes. They are humam. They will want more. They will move out. Start working. Start moving in places which match their ethnicity. There are scattered zo-kuki-chin people in parts of Tripura, Assam, full of Mizoram & the half of Manipur. Already when someone calls kuki immigrants they're angry.. In this whole scenario the actual immigrants are roaming freely. P.S: the Bangladeshis in Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland.

In India ST/SC/OBC should be for poorest part of the society and based on income level. Once they reach certain income level, their immediate family should be categorised as general, otherwise certain group of ppl will have all the advantage like no taxes, jobs etc.
Every informed and good - educated Indian would think the same way as you would, but sadly the reality is that the willingness of the politicians does not fall in line with this idea due to vote bank politics and petty politics for hanging on to power.
You are good at english but you lack for what is reservation is given. Reservation has nothing to do with the economic status. Do you think a rich SC or ST person can win in general constituency in a good percentage? No. Bcz he will be treated as a tribe or untouchable. In order to overcome this discrimination, the reservation is given. Once you believe that all human beings are equal before god then there is no use of reservation.

It is always argued that 90% of the land is in the hills. But one has to also keep in mind that how much area in the hills is habitable. Are basic infrastructures medical/Schools, etc are available in the hills. Are there enough motorable roads in the hills... So let's understand the genuine challenges of the hill people also. Thanks
If the hills are not habitable than let's put that into good use. Carbon credit is one hot credit system which the Indian govt bouch internationally in Climate change issue. I can't understand the problem when climate activist tries to plant trees in the reserve forest on International Environment Day. Tribals and nomad lifestyle are an old thing, which need to change with time. Why dont many educated tribals try to pull along their community on the oath of progress.
Dear haokip try to understand the ratio of area wrt to population valley region is densely populated. It is obvious that to make it developed to be priority of all aspect above that manipur has no its enough source of income to make itself strong... We are totally dependent on central govt. I m giving u an example u people hev ur tribal welfare development fund which is being sanctioned only for tribal community. Nobody can utilize this fund other than tribal for any purpose. U people hev ur representatives. U hev the onus whether this funds are being utilized in proper way or not....i would like to point out one more thing make sure election should be free n fair not try to cast vote by a single one or specific groups it would lead to make corrupt ur admin n ur education system also needs to improve I m not saying u guys are not educated. U guys r well educated but if we look at ur hill stn board exams are not conducted in fair manner. I m not saying these are fully being exercised in valley . Don't u learn in ur basic school days that drugs are bad not for the individual but also family and society. No matter poor or rich, it's illegal to grow poppy anywhere in India. The govt comes out with schemes like,"go to hills". Take part for God sack on the path of development. Recent development in Manipur and CCPur herself host famous personality of India. The land can be put to good use by making it a resort, ecotourism sites but what we can see now is the home of militants and growing poppy that can pollute the land, society and youth at large. Its really simple, allow meites to settle permanently/buy lands in other parts of manipur, peace and development will eventually follow. Imagine not being able to settle in different parts of your own state. OR give them the same land protection status that the Tribals of manipur enjoy.
If all of the manipur was your own state than you meitei people would also have settled in the hill. Since your people didn't settle and the kuki's settled there that means all the hills belong to the tribal and they can do as they wish.

For the knowledge of viewers, behind the screen of ST demand by the Meitei there are other major matters too. (a) The fear of Meitei losing the two third representations in the Manipur State Assembly due to abnormal growth of Kuki population when delimitation starts in the whole country in 2026. So NRC was initiated for exercising through the Central Government to flash out the immigrant Kuki those came after 1961 from outside India and have assimilated with the Old Kuki settlers. (b) To grab or get the right to own land in the Hills by becoming ST. For the land of Meitie was only 700 sq. km (9% of Manipur State) which was officially recorded when they emerged with the Union of India. The Hills area was and is save guarded under Article 371- C of Indian Constitution for fear of annihilation by the Meitie majority community. So here, there is no question the valley own only 9% of land even though their population is 53% . The Meitei community have been utilising all the 90% state funds in the valley for decades and concentrated all the institutions, developments and administrations in Imphal only, which created a magnetic field for conjunction of different ethnic groups. (c) ST demand by Meitie for jobs and financial benefits from the Central Government is a side bonus only. (d) To streamline for the eruption, operation of poppy cultivation and evictions in encroachment of reserved forest, protected forest and wet land was initiated without consulting and sitting across the table with all the stakeholders. (e) The Manipur High Court order given in harsh as per Honorable HM, Shri. Amit Shah ji add more fuel. All ot the above were boiling beneath the present violence situation. On 3 May 2023, all Hills Tribes were on peaceful rally against the ST demand by Meitie. In a democratic country they have the right to oppose democratically. But, the Meitie started to burn down the Kuki Century Memorial Gate on the same day. Which have spark the clash on the Kuki masses of their honour. From there on the volcano of ethnic cleansing started. Only God knows there after. May peace prevail.
Such an insightful talk . But I'd like to mention few things..regarding the 10 kuki MLAs signing for the separate administration..it was later found out that 7 signatures were fake..pliz do clarify on this too...
Fair and unbias show! The participants also speaks in a general basis. However, when it comes to the crisis between the Meeteis and Kukis, separate administration is the only solution. Even the hilly tribes occupied 90% of the land geographically but what %od the hill is habitable and is basic infrastructure available?
Population also depends on human fertility... Meitei living in a valley are having only one or child maximum because of may be education or family planning but most of the people living in the hill are having minimum 4 to 9 children that also is one of the biggest factor of increasing population among the tribal
And, The Manipur High Court has extended a period of one year for consideration of the March 27 order for inclusion of the Meetei/Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribe list. This was done on the request of the state looking after the present situation in Manipur
So interesting to listen to these two gentlemen's discussion. As far as the issue is concerned Mr. Biren Singh should step down from CM'ship like Mr. TR Zelaing stepped down as Chief Minister of Nagaland, owing to the breakdown of law and order situation that broke out in the State in connection to the ULB election related issues on 31st January 2017, where two precious lives were lost. Biren Singh failed to discharge his moral responsibility as CM of Manipur who couldn't tackle the issue in time as the head of the authority, in fact, he should feel ashamed of himself for not being able to iron out for what's best for people of the State, thereby he should paved a way for his other comrade and let the right person take the charge of the authority to restore the State law and order into normalcy and also to restore peace, harmony, tranquility and reconciliation among the two community.
Nagas owe a lot to GB Kahuto Chishi Sümi in the sense that he is the only man who is genuinely fighting for the general good of the public. So, instead of branding him this and that because his truth pokes you in the eye, accept him and support him. Pray for a political leader like him if you want Nagaland to prosper.
