Part one of two parts where I demo a full game of Triple Play Baseball. Dick Ruthven starts for the Phillies and Vern Ruhle for the Astros. Enjoy-and play ball!
On the McBride stolen base his stolen base rating was a 6 with Ashby a +1 wouldnt that have made him a 7? You looked under the 3 column. Still a SB. Just want to make sure im following correctly. You are doing a great job!! Thanks Kurt!
I ordered this game last week thanks to your videos you did which had the 74 A's IIRC. I got the 75 season. Looking forward to it so thanks! I'm new here and I'm enjoying your videos on all the different games.
Thanks I’ll love to hear what you think. Lots more demos coming. I like it too! I may have misspoke on RG-it is a regular grounder, although there are range checks also.
This is a great example to show the public the catch 22 situation with tabletop baseball games. This game is probably statistically much more accurate than other games with a lot more realistic aspects. The problem with that is a game with a lot of charts and rules. Personally, I welcome the games with more charts and a rule book that takes an hour to read. These games are going to be more realistic than the ones that are very easy to play and take about 20 minutes to play. The game my friend and I are designing hasn't been put out there yet because. at the moment it takes 90 minutes to 2 hours because it take so much into account that we feel is necessary. We want to get the game pared down to about an hour to play, and we have been brainstorming with all the quarantining on how to streamline it without making it like every other game out there.
I agree. I think it depends upon what you’re trying to accomplish with your game. If the goal is sales on as large a scale as possible, then it seems to be that less detail and shorter games (in terms of time spent to play) would seem advisable. However, if realism is your goal, or if you’re interested in emphasizing elements of baseball that perhaps don’t get enough attention, then I think details are your friend.
Love this! Outstanding explanations. Love detailed playthroughs where you get things on the camera. ...... Q: How did you know you were "in the hole" at 34m20s ?
The roll of 7-4-8 at 38m20.... do you go to the left side of the column because Ashby is a switch hitter? Wondering if it is a "RG" check or a "SG" check (7-4-8). ........... at 42m02, I think maybe Joe Morgan (Lefty) might have gotten a Double? ............ I like the flow of this. It seems I hear gamers say they don't care for charts but I think it adds quite a bit of intrigue myself. More detail, helping you visualize what's happening.
Worked late tonight so I’ll check out the time stamps tomorrow and reply. Sorry about that. Ashby would be a switch hitter so lefty in that spot. Thanks for the questions and feedback-they really help. Season Ticket Demo game should be uploaded sometime tomorrow as well. Then it’s on to Baseball Classics and Baseball Guru next week.
Sure, no worries or rush. .... Another question, at 55m15s, Luzinski, on a roll of 4-4-9... against Right-Pitcher it says 449 is in the 447-458 range, which is a (blue-font) "2B rfl". So that is a Groundout to 2B, what does the rfl mean? I',m not sure how rfl (I assume right-field) relates to this groundout. Is that because it would've headed there if second-baseman missed it? ......... Thanks!
Ashby should’ve been a 1B RG, I DID read the wrong column. I’m sometimes going too fast because I get worried about time on the videos. Missed that one for sure.
@@tedbrayton ...Michael Cielenski doesn't seem that interested in cards and dice anymore. Still, this seems like a copyright violation with a few modifications added. I wonder if Cielenski is getting a cut of everything that gets sold?
