19" square paper works nicely for good results as the toes can get a bit difficult. I used double tissue paper to do it. I wouldn't recommend anything smaller unless you are really good it is quite a bit more difficult then v1. I will have to try one with tissue foil at some point.

Nick Kirk Yeah 19" is really nice for being able to do it for the first time. Doing the ancient dragon from regular printer paper, wow, you must really be good at origami. I haven't made the ancient dragon yet, at some point I will try but I will use a much larger piece of paper. Regular printer paper for me rips to easily and doesn't hold the folds as I like them to, so I only use origami paper (for simple or practice), or tissue/double tissue/tissue foil/double tissue-foil for most of my origami. Yes the fiery dragon 2.0 definitely can be done much smaller, I have gone down as small as 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)single tissue paper, though I much rather do 5.5", 6", 11", 17" tissue foil...or even a 5'-3" (160 cm x 160 cm or so) double tissue. Worst thing about the fiery dragon...is I get hooked on making them...have 16 of the 2.0s already around my house....need to get unhooked...

I think some parts maybe, but the idea is that he just fixed the original version in a couple ways to make it look even cooler. This is pretty much the same origami
