Thank you for posting this on here. Wonderful exposition of a very confusing topic. I am a retired EE and and trying to get my head around basics of QFT and renormalization has stumped me and thank to you I am a little further along my quest . A big mental hurdle seems less forbidding now. Thanks again

but the photon is an off shell particle so the q2 can not be 0 !!!
