Simple and straightforward explanation. My textbook definition is not so clear. You made it simple and clear. Thank you.

5:54 how I remember it is by looking at charges. Proton has a positive charge and neutron has no charge. Therefore, does proton have charge? Duh or in this case Duu. And what happens if you try and power something with a neutron, well u get a dud

@@OSC1990 thank you for 88% on my waves test. I was sick the entire week this was taught and came back to a test in 5 days and the teacher starting nuclear until then.

On the last page "Representing the particles", why are the neutrinos drawn with a line over them as anti-particles? Aren't there anti-particle versions of all of them? or are neutrinos different
@martinhecht455
@martinhecht455 4 года назад
neutrinos anti particle is called anti neutrino, and its symbol is a v with a little line on top
@randomcomedygold
@randomcomedygold 3 года назад
Yes you are right. Each particle has an anti particle so there isn't supposed to be a line on top of the 3 nutrinos. The reason being that the circle only represents the particles and not anti-particles, however you can make one just like this for the anti-particles too! I know I'm very late but came to the comments to address see if anyone talked about this lol.

11:44 the bottom right anti-neutrino would be positron-neutrino, right? Or is anti-electron-neutrino better? I'm a little confused as my teacher told me that saying positron-neutrino in place of anti-electron-neutrino is not correct but as far as I can tell it means the same
@OSC1990
@OSC1990 3 года назад
For what the IB needs us to know, it should suffice to use both positron-neutrino and anti-electron neutrino.

So, can a baryon have 3 quarks or 3 antiquarks? or does it always have a mixture of both?
@OSC1990
@OSC1990 2 года назад
There are actually more complicated rules to follow for Baryons, but I'm just showing the very basics here. But in principle, a baryon can have 3 quarks or 3 antiquarks.
@hetpatel5127
@hetpatel5127 2 года назад
@@OSC1990 so can it have two quarks and one antiquark for example?

Don't be afraid - you'll be just fine! Just remember the Physics exam (Paper 1 and 2) is really long, so you likely won't finish. The trick is not to panic, do the questions you can, and know that the grade boundaries are usually super low. So just go after the points you can :)
