German composer and violinist, David Moritz Michael, was a prominent figure in the Monrovian music movement in Pennsylvania. During his time in the US, Michael composed several choral works for the Monrovian church in the Colonies during the Classical Period. Also, during that time, he composed many wind chamber music works, which was common during the Classical Period. Partita No.6 in F Major is scored for two clarinets, two horns, and two bassoons. The first movement is a slow introduction leading into the second movement in Sonata-Allegro form. First clarinet states the melodic theme throughout both of these movements. The third movement is a slower movement, where both clarinets play duets, and the fourth movement, a minuet, is where horns have a prominent theme, and the last movement, a rondo, is where all six instruments have different melodic lines.
