I’m an American of Pakistani origin and looking into my roots, I deeply regret partition, I wish it never happened. What a sad and unfortunate set of events that killed so many people on the basis of religion. If I was alive at that time, I would have never let Pakistan happen, not in a million years, I have so much sorrow over what happened, we would have been so powerful together, like a super state. I am sorry to all Indians for the pain of Pakistan’s birth on behalf of this Pakistani Origin individual.

भारत स्वाभिमान के सचिव एवं राष्ट्रीय प्रवक्ता राजीव दिक्षीत जी ने ऊनके 1997 के ये आजादी नही धोखा है ईस व्याख्यान मे बताया है की 4-7-1947 मे इंग्लैंड के पार्लमेंट मे इंडियन इन्डीपेन्डन्स ऐक्ट ईस नाम से भारत की आजादी का जो कानुन पारीत हुआ था ऊसमे ये लिखा है की 15-8-1947 के बाद भारत और पाकीस्तान ये दोनो इंग्लैंड के डोमिनीयन ईस्टेट रहेंगे.ईसमे कहीं भी भारत या पाकीस्तान का स्वतंत्र राष्ट्र के रुप मे कोई भी ऊल्लेख नहीं है.डोमिनीयन ईस्टेट का मतलब आज भारत और पाकीस्तान इंग्लैंड के अधीन दो छोटे राज्य है ईसलिए इंग्लैंड की महारानी का आज भी भारत और पाकीस्तान पर पुरा अधिकार है वो बिना व्हिसा की ईन दोनों देशों के किसी भी गांव मे जा सकती है.ऊसका यह अधिकार खत्म करने के लिए भारत के आजादी का इंडियन इंडिपेन्डन्स ऐक्ट यह कानुन भारत की सांसद मे रद्द करके फिर से भारत और पाकीस्तान को एक होकर अखंड भारत बनना चाहिये.और ईसमे ऊन सभी सोला देशों को भी फिरसे शामिल होना चाहिये जिनको अंग्रेजों ने जबरदस्ती से तोडकर भारत से अलग किया था.

Partition of Assam - Assam too was partitioned in 1947. It was Sylhet district of Assam that was partitioned. Sylhet was a native Bengali district of Assam. A plebiscite was held in the district where the people were supposed to cast their votes to decide whether Sylhet would remain in India or join East Pakistan. Not enough voting polls were given at that time. Those that were given were all located in the Muslim majority areas. The people of Sylhet were promised that the plebiscite would take place in the presence of the military. However soldiers were not brought and the ones that were already present in the district were shifted to other places. As a result the Hindus of Sylhet could not vote properly and Sylhet was lost to East Pakistan by mere one lakh votes. It is very obvious that if the voting polls were also located in the Hindu majority areas then we would have surpassed the one lakh votes very easily keeping in mind that Sylhet had a fair share of Hindu population. From the above paragraph it should be quite clear to everyone that the plebiscite in Assam’s former Sylhet district was carried out completely unfairly. And this was done by the Congress leaders of Assam. It should be noted that the whole of Assam’s Sylhet district did not join East Pakistan. 86% of Sylhet district joined East Pakistan where as the remaining 14% is in Assam which is present day Karimganj district in Assam’s Barak Valley. Since Sylhet was a native Bengali district hence Karimganj too is a native Bengali district of Assam. Apart from Karimganj Assam also has two more native Bengali districts of Hailakandi and Cachar. These three districts are together called the Barak Valley.

good info sharing, when i was in school i used to feel the same that had we been united our cricket team would have been the best ( which is still the best even after partition) but now in 2020 i feel it was blessing in disguise for INDIA that Pakistan got separated...( although the violence that happened after partition in both side sends shivers down the spine even today...violence part is condemnable)

All the people who are saying that mahatma gandhi was responsible for the partition should use their mind is to why partition happened . First let me give you an example - Suppose if there is a man of 78 years .....having 6-7 children . Then what do you think what is going to happen when he dies . Ans- fight for the At the time of partition there were around 390 million hindus and 90 million muslims . And bcoz of the britishers there was hatred between hindus and muslims which led fights and riots on the daily basis . So in order to stabilize the country gandhi supported the partition.

Partition is not painful, but how it happened, its terrible and painful. it could have happened in a good way. i could not understand why it was not happened in a decent way. still we can live together like a good neighbors. we both are wasting and weaking our region, due to not accepting each other, west and other parties are taking benefits of it. Very difficult given the current situation and history since 1947. We can hope for better relations and a mutually beneficial good trade relationship, like India and China also have many disputes, but bilateral trade between them was 92 billion dollars in 2019.

I don't understand why we should think British divided 'Bharat' into Pakistan and later into Bangladesh. I find this not a true fact when the fact is British got into Indian sub-continents and the invaded more than 500 small states and created a new Empire called British Empire. But yes, later British India was divided into India and Pakistan. So, how can we say British divided 'Bharat' which was never a country but a subcontinents with many political divisions. If you see the history then today's India is the largest Indian empire ever created when you see the Maurya Empire was Samudra Gupta during Chanakya's period was also smaller if we compared to what it is now. I think British united India more than they divided the British Indian into India and Pakistan. PS: Neither I'm British nor a Pakistani nor a Chinease. I am asking this question with genuene interest.

Okay then first answer me where does 'Bharata' meant a single country in any of the Vedas, scriptures or Puranas. Only, Bharatvarsam is mentioned in our scriptures which means 'Bharata' is an ideology or and later turned into a land mass practicing the Bhadra meaning Kingships later to be known as Brotherhood. My meaning of Bharat is an ideology being practiced by many political divisions of Bharat Varsam (itmay be called as today's continent) where people were collectively grouped based on Spiritual findings and they collectively nourished the culture of 'Bhava' 'Rata' and 'Tala' so whoever or wherever the Bharatas (the Kings) ruled, fought, invaded they maintained the ideology of 'Bharata'. So, my concept is there was never a country called Bharata until East India Company came, discovered the weakness, fuel the small quarrels of many small countries, made them fight against each other (Bhai Fute Gawar Lute) and then finally invaded all these counties and ruled as British India who looted for several years making the London richer and richer.

If Gupta Empire represents United India, then what about South India which was not a part of it. So, you mean only the today's North India, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh is Bharat not the whole of South India and the Indian oceans. Gupta Empire was smaller if you compared to British India. But yes, it was larger than Mughals only. The definition on 'Bharat' is the defination of 'the republic of India' not of Bharat.
