In honor of Pollinator Week, we're thrilled to have Dr. Lindsie McCabe, President of the Orchard Bee Association, join us to share the incredible work her organization does to support Orchard Mason Bees.
The Orchard Bee Association (OBA) was founded in 2011 by a dedicated group of independent businesses, orchard managers, and researchers. Their mission is to boost the production and use of Orchard Mason bees (including Osmia lignaria, O. cornifrons, O. cornuta, and O. rufa) in various spring crops and orchards. OBA promotes stewardship, preservation, and enhancement of orchard bee populations, along with responsible wild bee management to preserve the local genetic stock of bees concerning elevation, climate, and local flora. In 2014, OBA became a legally recognized 501(c)3 not-for-profit professional society, governed by a board of members.
