Parts Organizer Storage Cabinet for your Garage or Workshop
I purchased several parts organizer containers from Harbor Freight to sort out many of my small parts. But I kept finding them in the way. So I built a storage cabinet to store all of these under my mobile router table. This setup can be very useful for any garage or workshop. Plus it can be easily adapted to fit about anywhere.

Looks good. I was surprised at the quality of the Harbor Freight organizers. Much better than typical HF. Add labels to each organizer and you will be set. Thanks for sharing.

I was a little surprised too. I have noticed that some of their stuff is better than others.

@@SpecificLove7 I found that I needed more of the small holders inside the bins than came with them so I 3D printed a bunch. Worked like a charm. I like how 2 little ones fit into the space of a medium one and 2 medium ones fit into the space of one large. That gives a lot of flexibility in the layout.

Nice job ... your vids are fun to watch! One issue with the parts organizer that could use some re-engineering: wouldn’t it be nice to pull it out, open the cover, and slide it back in (without needing to take it all the way out and place on the workbench)?

This is awesome. I kid of wish you would have considered some kind of labeling/box designation in the design so we know what each box is used for/easy/quick access.

Found you last night. I really appreciate the Harbor Freight feedback. As a quality worker, I'm always wondering about what I can do for now, tool wise, and upgrade if I find that value for items I dont use as often. Better than not having them. Anyways I like how your videos are very direct and "shorter" than average

Your design is the first I have seen that did not use full shelves for each storage bin and instead uses runners under the organizer’s lid (as opposed to under the entire organizer). I am thinking of building my cabinet the same way. How did that work out for you over time? Did you run into any issues with the bins falling off the runners?
@SpecificLove7
@SpecificLove7 3 года назад
I still use them often and they work great.

So to not have to use the popsicle sticks, what width should the cuts be for the pieces that hold the cases in place?

I know this is an older video but I just found it. Anyway, I have a bunch of those and right now they are just stacked on top of each other. And the one I need is always in the middle of the stack forcing me to move a bunch of them just to get 4 screws out of the one in the middle. Anyway, how did you get the labels off of the top? Love your channel and the content you put out!
@SpecificLove7
@SpecificLove7 8 месяцев назад
The labels were definitely a challenge. I peeled them off the best I could and then used Goo gone for the rest.

Why did you leave the lids on? It adds three steps to retrieve a part (2 catches and a lid) and another 3 to put the tray away. Six movements extra. They also take height. And they serve no purpose. Would you have a drawer with a lid?
@SpecificLove7
@SpecificLove7 8 месяцев назад
I make a lot of dust in my workshop, and if I did not leave the lid on they would quickly get filled up.
@Tensquaremetreworkshop
@Tensquaremetreworkshop 8 месяцев назад
@@SpecificLove7 Only if you leave too big a gap- do your drawers fill up? If the trays would truly get 'filled up', then you need to review your dust collection. Both direct extraction from tools and air filtration is advised- your health is at risk.

I have the exact same table saw. Great idea using a foam noodle on the fence rails when not in use. I have battle wounds from those things. Any idea where I can get the riving knife for this saw??

Why do you have Ridgid and Ryobi ?? I would standardize so I didn't need two different batteries. I went with all Ryobi for the battery tools myself. Corded tools, I have all kinds, but I don't like having many different batteries.
@SpecificLove7
@SpecificLove7 4 года назад
I prefer the Ridgid because of the lifetime guarantee, but Ryobi has some tools that Ridgid does not, so I would need both batteries either way.
