I remember seeing somewhere that Katya meant this as a genuine joke, not to be shady or mean. The reason she smiles is because she was going to laugh at her own joke, realized Alaska didn’t think it was funny, and then had to hide her own laughter
That is VERY Katya, I can't imagine her actually insulting someone in order to hurt their feelings. She also said in an interview that she thought Alaska was faking the whole tantrum for a good story arch and so she wanted to channel Adores "whatever I'm not buying it" attitude.

i feel she was at least a LITTLE deliberate about it because her saying "party" was a callback to when alaska threw shade with calling her adore delano at the beginning of the episode. cause if katya really didn't intend such a brief and cutting response to alaska's obvious distress, she would have probably been "oh nono just kidding haha" like she usually is when she is being sarcastic. it was her way of being petty, but lighthearted about it.

the adore shade on the part of alaska from the beginning of the episode adds a nice layer to this, but honestly it stands perfectly fine on its own. i mean we all know what the catchphrase means, and the use of it here exerted such utter dominance it shakes my very spirit to this day. it had the energy of scar holding mufasa over the cliff saying "long live the king," then throwing him to the wildebeests
It’s even better when you realise she said it as a joke, was going to laugh at it, then realised Alaska DID NOT find it funny and no longer knew what she was gonna do. It’s not even an epic comeback. It’s a joke that she realised did not land and it’s like fight or flight moments.
