Anders: The darkspawn taint, the call of the archdemon, it's inside me, it's much a part of me as justice! Hawke: Ooh baby, tell me more. Best shit in this game.
Anders: When I left the Wardens, I swore I'd never spend another minute in the Deep Roads. Fenris: "Left" sounds like it was a mutual arrangement. Anders: Fine. I ran away. What's it to you? Fenris: Ran away from the Circle, ran away from the Wardens... it sounds like a habit. Anders: Running away from your family, straight to Danarius. Running away from Danarius, straight to Hawke. Maybe we're more alike than you think. Varric: I've always said so. There's some salt. And by that I mean the whole Waking Sea times three.
I get it now. Varric is telling a story...all caves look the same to him that's why we go into the same looking cave so often because Varric can't tell...IT ALL MAKES SENSE
@@vermilion6966 yeah, it's because of Justice. I'm pretty sure Anders from DA:A was a good cheater. ''Old'' Anders looked like a person who is cheating and lying all the time
@@aaron75fy Yes, probably because Justice transformed into Vengeance in act III. Vengeance is a demon, so I guess he (it?) doesn't give a shit about lying
Carver is a good person, even if he is an ass. He just needed his own purpose to fulfill and get out of the shadow of his elder sibling. Carver just wanted to strike out on his own and show that he was just as good or special as his magical siblings. Carver and Bethany are both amazing in their own right.
I tend to feel bad that carver thinks he’s in hawke’s shadow, the truth is that he never was, and that belief led to him resent hawke. Sometimes a younger brother would be nice to have
Carver turns the chant into a smutty pick-up line and Sebastian gets nettled. Whodathunkit? I know Carver's a grumpy little bitch but he's MY grumpy little bitch.
1:06:35 Love it when Sebastian flirts with Bethany and Bethany went speechless! 😆 Even Isabela sounded like her ovaries exploded with surprise! Sebastian was not the flirtatious type so this was a happy surprise for Isabela (and me, haha!). Years after and I'm still discovering new things about this game! :)
Varric: Our little Hawke is growing up, Rivaini. Isabela: I know! Burglary and espionage! I'm so proud of him right now, I could burst! Varric: Soon, he'll be sharking card games and swindling merchants all on his own! Brings a tear to my eye! Snarky!Hawke: Everything I know about being a scoundrel, I learned from you two. Isabela: I think I'm going to cry. Look at me! I'm getting misty-eyed!
Anders: "Hawke and friends walked for a really long times, in tunnels that smelled like nug shit." Fenris: "Angsty Tevinter Elf?" "Did you call me fat?" "Hawke rolled into the fray like a gigantic pudding, covered in gravy."
I loved this game!! I loved the silly parts of it. What I loved most about it was the wonderful ability of creating your own character's character. I loved the eccentric side of my companions. Funny funny game. I've played through inquisition hopefully we get to extend on our own identities through dlcs so that I could feel that I truly am role playing a short written description at the beginning is not enough. I want my character to be as fleshed out as my companions. Very good vid enjoyed revisiting da2.
"Daisy, haven't you heard? Swooping is bad. I could do heroic charging though. You want me to call him 'Feathers'?" "Yes! And make him extra fluffy." Omg, Merrill is too precious for this world! I need to protect her all the time!
19:46 "Most magisters would consider this a challenge. Invent a sin that is greater yet." **DAI: Corypheus punches a hole in the sky and infects a lot of people with red lyrium**
Err... Your Warden didn't get infected in the Deep Roads and severely tainted by the time they took Bethany somewhere to do the ritual. All things considered the Warden had a pretty nice ritual in comparison to become a Warden. Furthermore Bethany is a Warden for years, the Grey Warden in DA:O is a Warden at most a year thus you don't feel the long term negative effects of being a Warden in DA:O, DA:A or Witch Hunt while Bethany has experienced it by this time due to years passing by.
Uncanny Tempus Considering the fact that our warden had to pull together three races and a nation at war with itself to form an ad hoc alliance to combat a BLIGHT with all of EIGHT PEOPLE AND A DOG behind them and WON, possibly DYING IN THE PROCESS, I'd saying Bethany has it easy in comparison.
It was still within 1-2 year(S) -(If you count Awakening and Witch Hunt) , furthermore the Warden had friends and companions. Bethany never mentions making any friends with the Wardens and when you see her in Mark of The Assassin she's alone, so her life as a Warden seems to be a pretty solitary one with the missions she's granted and Wardens seem to only get in groups when the need is high(Like what happened at Kirkwall Act 2). The Warden also had a Blight as an excuse which none of the races could ignore. They could delay it, by saying they need help with an issue, but once that was settled they were obligated to help or race destruction. Not to mention that the Warden in DA:O didn't have to follow the Rules, due to the situation, and was free to travel as he/she desired while Bethany needs permission from the Warden directly overseeing her to even go outside.
Uncanny Tempus Yes, "issues" like "help us end our civil war!" and "help us end this centuries old werewolf curse!" and "help us fight this army of zombies!". And I feel I must reiterate, Bethany didn't have to end a blight and fight an Archdemon - and with no warden support except Alistair and Riordan. Seriously, the amount of blights that have happened in the entire history of Thedas can be counted on one hand. Kind of a big deal.
Domovoi07 Even if you end the Werewolf Curse it does nothing about there being more Werewolves and Dalish Elves and former Werewolves still at each others throats by the time DAII roles around. You even meet an Elf that wants to kill a Werewolf, or at least a former one, because when he was/is a werewolf he murdered her family members. So the curse is still an issue. Bethany was treated like trash as a Warden and she doesn't get an Archfiend to kill or any respect for many Deep Roads expeditions, against her will, over the years. She still gets nightmares, and has no outlet for them, and unlike the Warden, who was rushed to Warden Commander in a year, she has very little privacy or freedom. You know because there's no Blight to push her up the ranks so she's stuck as a low ranking Grey Warden. The Warden lucked out with the Blight, the Archfiend was way too careless and if it never even entered Denerim during the siege than its forces would have won. The Warden was betting heavily on the Archfiend to participate in a battle he didn't even have to be at.
Overlord0011 Just imagine them showing up in da 4 and Fenris being Dorian’s bodyguard, willingly of course. A friendship between them would be so fucking funny. Just imagine them sassing at eachother and throwing insults.
@@hakimthechosen1836 Just imagine them showing up in da 4 and Fenris being Dorian’s bodyguard, willingly of course. - you people are nuts and delusional beyond repair. Fenris would hate his guts because Dorian is a 1 noble 2 tevinter mage(ister) 3 doesnt find slavery repugnant. I no freaking universe he would *willingly* serve someone like that, its like returning to danarius on his own accord with extra steps. In his new upcoming comics book he's described as "mage hunter" currently to boot ahtever the fudge it means.
@@vermilion6966 I agree. He would hate him more than he disliked Anders. I don't know why people think that Fenris and Dorian could be friends, it makes no sense. I remember a conversation between Inquisitor and Dorian when Dorian was suprised that your Inquistor said that slavery is bad... Oh god, imagine Fenris reaction. (I like them both, but seriously, Dorian represents everything that Fenris dislike in Thedas).
@@NihilVacant Fenris accepts and likes Tevinters who are different and tries to get them to acknowledge they don’t need to abide by Tevinter’s disgusting social norms (Francesca in The Blue Wraith. He’s very patient explaining how dangerous her father is in reality to her. Surprised me since she’s a mage. I’d guess he’s a little more tolerant now, still need to see the Dark Fortress to see what else he thinks since he doesn’t speak as much as I thought he would in this one.) Dorian, on the other hand, sings songs of Tevinter’s praise all the time, sings his love of it and everything. He’d have Fenris’s fist in his face before the day was up, hell, I’d bet the hour. He really disgusts me. Of course, they had him be gay so any criticism of him gets brushed off as “oh your just a bigot” instead it’s annoying listening to him sprout on about the wonders of his homeland, when his homeland commits one atrocity after another every minute.
@@Norinia Cassandra: Shall we simply dismiss your homeland as having no redeeming qualities? Even Cassandra freaking Pentaghast says that Tevinter has good points. And Dorian is always the first to admit his country is flawed. Admits that freeing the Mages could lead to what Tevinter has become. He’s just cynical. He’s cynical because he knows that he likely can’t change it
*My Dalish Warden suddenly pops into the conversation.* It was a good idea at the time! The first time I didn't we all died five times trying to kill the Father and then seven times trying to kill the Mother.
I still got the "losing to the elf at wicked grace" one in the playthrough where my hawke didn't recruit fenris, so i guess he still sticks around kirkwall and makes friends with your companions even if you're not around
You save your sister by making her a gray warden she has a noble purpose and has a chance to save the world do some good... Betheny- I hate you... Let her be taken to a gilded prison and be basically a slave the rest of her life... Betheny- Yey im so happy now... Really???
At least she would have more than thirty years to live, and wouldn't have to spend the rest of her short life fighting hordes of ravernous beasts in deep roads, slowly succumbing to the taint while hearing the voice of the archedemon whenever she sleeps, knowing that the only way she will die is by being killed by a darkspawn or eventually having to journey into the deep roads to kill as many darkspawn as possible till death. While I agree that she shouldn't blame Hawke for her fate, but the can't blame her for being depressed when she knows exactly how her life is going to be, and it isn't pretty.
Ix Rebound You make a good point! :) as for knowing how her life will play out, you could say the same for the tower. Harassed by the worst templars in thedas AKA kirkwall. for a simple mistake or slight, made tranquil. Yeah... both futures for her suck. LOL :)
Well to be fair, becoming a grey warden is kind of like giving yourself terminal cancer to become a better fighter, where as the circle, while restricting, would typically be a place of peace and learning.
Nexious Imrex Yeah, well, when the knight commander's crazy even before she gets the red lyrium idol, it kinda makes it difficult to get either of those.
Gorathan Sharok? I've played this game up and down and I've NEVER found ANYTHING like that. 1:22:00, when did this conversation take place? I can't find ANYTHING on it.
Ok, the party banters in DA2 are super funny. XD ( and make Inquisition so dull in comparison :P ) And happy i've got rid of Carver when i had the chance, is absolutely a pain in the a**
