AESA radar can actually do a lot better like producing a solid cone and being able to recognize from what section of the cone exactly did the reflection came to then instantly zero-in on the target. It's still limited by the radar power output though, much like unfocused flashlights lose brightness quickly, so does fanned-out radar beam. Not that it matters in WT on account of tiny maps compared to real life.
It has a phased array antenna radar. It can steer the beam electronically a few degrees, which is an extremely rapid angle adjustment compared to actually rotating the antenna. It still has to rotate the antenna to get a view at a completely different angle though. It's a passive phased array, meaning that behind the system there's only 1 radar system, so it needs to do the beam dance. Active phased arrays have individual radar systems for each element of the array, and it can produce any number of beams in each direction at once.

And the way about how the radar pantshit works depends on what kind of mode you are using, and how better you handling the missile. Tbh im surprised how well pantshit missile flying straight without wobbling like VT 1 at 8-12km. And this thing have very good thermal compared flarakrad. As the people who grind tech tree using SPAA I can tell the ppl who cant use pantshit is have skill issue

@@mmneaapro596 yeah that happen to me even it mixed with the flares and chaff. But once thia is happen I will stop locking hiwm turn into manual. With this missile I can guide the missile manually much better than VT1.

Even Soviet era radars were frequency , band and pulse recurrence hopping radars. They have crystal change capability. The Russian crew training of conscripts is not able to optimise adaptable synergy of capabilities of those systems.
If you pause the video in the right spots can see that the radar beam is facint directions where nether of the two dishes are pointing. This is ether a bug or bias.
It’s actually accurate, the Pantsir uses a PESA radar, which can steer the radar beam electronically without the need for moving the radar itself. This is similar to the radars on modern fighters.
