They've kept their content real, only filtering them enough to not be bannable. They made money cause they just did their thing that was good, other youtubers just jump on all the mainstream trends and eventually drown out when their kid audience loses interest and switches to another youtuber. RU-vid's stricter guideline enforcement and Frank quitting has made them more mainstream now :(

Depends entirely how you use RU-vid tbf, it's always seemed pretty bland to me tbf the world over, in terms of Content Creators, it's just more bland now.
