This physics video tutorial provides a basic introduction into pascal's principle and the hydraulic lift system. It explains how to use pascal's law of pressure to solve physics problems associated with the hydraulic lift machine. It discusses how to calculate the upward output force exerted by the simple machine given an input. Pascal's principle states that the pressure exerted on a fluid is distributed undiminished to every part of the fluid. This video explains how to calculate the mechanical advantage of the hydraulic lift and how to calculate the distance that output piston will travel given the distance of the input piston.

Can u tell me why he uses the formula for area in solid rather that formula for area in liquid Is it because it's the pressure from the solid circular ares that's affecting the movement of the other larger circular area???

There is an error at 19:37, yes the mechanical advantage is the ratio of the areas, however it isn't the ratio of the diameters because the radius is squared in the area. The mechanical advantage is the ratio of the diameters squared.

Does anyone have the force vs displacement graph of a simple manual hydraulic jack ? I mean how the force changes when we use and press on the lever of a hydraulic jack ! I want to know the complete scenario : before pressing the lever , while pressing the lever and raising the object , after raising the object! I want to know how the force and pressure of fluid changes during the whole process!
