At 64 ft long and weighing 72,000 lbs each, the Honolulu Rail Transit rail cars needed extra-special care for their transit to Honolulu. Here’s a quick glimpse of cargo loading on the Jean Anne from Port of San Diego.
And how did the rail cars get to San Diego? Triple R Transportation, a family-owned company, ensured their safe transport from Pittsburg CA on new low-profile 85’ long transport trailers with steerable axles and hydraulic-lift capabilities to accommodate the oversize railcars on the highway and our ships.
This massive move, while it looks easy here, required expert planning and coordination between Triple R engineers and our vessel operating teams. Outstanding job by an amazing team of people!
