PASIC Finale 2018... 6 generations of DCI snare champions... we had to play something together :-) I love the fact that you can hear the progression of tuning, with the tap-offs, from the 60's to today...

@@SupraaHero I know it was rehearsed. I was making a lighthearted joke. Some drummers like to show off. That's what we do. In this case, I don't think anybody was expecting visuals in the tap off which made for a cool and exciting ending.

It continues to baffle me why people play traditional with a modern drum that is level. Terrible for posture and muscles in arm...smh
@christianstainazfischer
@christianstainazfischer 3 года назад
Probably because it’s traditional.... also match grip on snare looks way too symmetrical and therefore ugly. Also it’s not terrible for posture and your muscles if you actually learn how to do it properly.

@JabCrossHook27
@JabCrossHook27 2 года назад
I understand that traditional grip came from drumming-as-a-time-keeper for troops on battle field, e.g.., Revolution War period, when the drummer would actually need to be able to sling the drum to their side, AND keep playing, whilst marching/running from to/from opponents

have to admit, somewhere down the line, you get hear a drop in quality of attack and tempo. alright i will tell you. the last 2 have horrible quality and temp control . its like they are millenials...oh , they are. too much rap and metronome electronica...while the others graduated from the metronome long ago, and went way past it.
@zach.a.fields
@zach.a.fields 2 года назад
Is that why one of the older guys (Scott Johnson) taught one of the younger guys (Brandon Olander) using a “metronome electronica?” Interesting how the older guys supposedly “graduated” from metronomes but still teach people to use them 🤔
