With respect to the Chanel highlighters (tangentially at least) I wanted to give a video series idea of exploring whether each brand's limited edition products are worth special consideration. I feel with some brands like NARS, there are lots of products like the orgasm/laguna duos they release year after year so there's no point in feeling pressure. Their blush 6 pans are also frequently released but on occasion can have unique formulas or a color scheme you won't see for the next 5 years which may make it worth it. Chanel's highlighters seem to not only be unique visuals, but also have unique formulas making them standouts and "must haves" (not really but comparatively) if you really want what you see. There also seem to be a lot of brands where special releases can actually have worse formulas than their permanent collections. For a one-shot video you could look at characteristics which make a limited edition worthwhile. For a series though you could do a bit of a historical look back at limited editions followed by a breakdown of whether the brand, or specific releases from a brand, were worth a closer look. You do such a good break down of beneficial qualities and objective in addition to subjective reviews I thought this could be something interesting to see from you specifically (though I see it as more work than the average video in all fairness).

Got the Dior face and eye palette last year. It’s been great for travel. I know it’s neutral but that was a plus for travel. Have not had a problem with fallout and the lipsticks have not dried out. Definitely going to look at the one for this year. Also, I think the eyeshadow last year was the normal quint quality.

I'm there with you on the Chantecaille eye quads. I have one and it is so powdery that I started to declutter it, but kept it as it was so expensive (cost vs. weight). Then on the eyes, the quad colors muddle to one color (the duochrome). Nothing spectacular. I like the duos, just need to break them out. Craving the cougar lip chics though like I need another hole in the head. Just found your channel. Loving it. Have a great day.

ND looks like an updated Star 🌟 palette. I'm very excited! Great video! What are your thoughts on the new J* Wedding palette? The idea is genius and I'm surprised no one has thought of it yet. The color story is actually pretty solid. What are your thoughts? I know you usually review higher end makeup, but this is quite an interesting release. IMHO. I have very dry skin and Dior's powders are some of the best for dry skin! The powder no powder and the cushion loose powder are my top shelf in my kit. I want to try the powder foundation after seeing a review on it. It looks really lovely.

Thank you! Hmmm, I don't really like Jeffrey's stuff very much. To me it looks just like the Viseart palettes or the neutral ones from Tarte. Although I don't own any of his makeup so it's tough for me to have an opinion. The pigmentation looks nice

Thanks for the video !I ❤️the Chantecaille eyeshadows quads!The colours are always so beautiful and they apply well ! The packaging is always so beautiful but I do agree that it is not as glamorous as Gucci packaging !I ordered both the Chantecaille Jaguar and Cougar eyeshadow quads and a lip chic from each collection !The Miss Dior flowery compact and the Guerlain Holiday collection are so beautiful!!!!!These are possible purchases for me !I too will consider that Westman Atelier tint/foundation !I just ❤️WA products !

Hi Sofia! I loved the Chanel makeup palette I purchased it in 2014 and love it. I also loved the lip palette from Chanel but I lost it, It was gifted to me in 1995. I like purchasing special editions. I will be purchasing the tweed eye shadow once it arrives in Puerto Rico in September.

Congrats on 5K! Lots of new products, I don't find much to attract me. I want to get something from the Dior Millefiori collection, becase it is gorgeous. May go for the candle if the price is doable, otherwise I will just get the lipstick case with the flowers, I think. The "historic" brands such as Dior, YSL and Chanel, in my opinion, usual release things for holiday that are intended as gifts for and older target, hence why there isn't anything super new. I may be wrong, though.

I’m all in on the DiorMille Fiore! I don’t like anything Charlotte Tilbury. I have tons of Tom Ford (including Red Harness) so I’m good. I’m absolutely getting at least one Gucci blush. I will wait for your review of the WA tint. It will have to complete with my Chanel water fresh tint. I’ll be staying tuned for Byredo and whatever magic Violette creates for Guerlain. She can do no wrong. I don’t care about most of the other brands anymore. The Nars Audacious is their best lipstick formula, but I’m ok without it. Chantecaille’s new owners are just not impressing me with their choices. This was a great video. Thanks!

PS: the Gucci blushes look like the packaging of the all purpose balm they did, which has a pinhole in the base for removal. I am looking forward to collecting all their gorgeous compacts for use with depotting other formulas/pill case/purse items etc :)

Love the Natasha face palette (cream blush, cream highlighter and powder highlighter). I just don’t think I need it although it would be great for travel. Really like the lip color. It’s in the color Natasha which is a previous release in the lipstick and pencil although people are debating if the formula is the same. They are saying this version is more creamy but for all I know their other one could be old and dried out. The gloss in the color natasha is new, but some think the lipstick is so creamy it doesn’t need a gloss. It would be a good topper for other lipsticks in my collection. The eyeshadow palette is a pass for me. I’ve compared it to the other ND palettes and although the color story is different I’m not sure if you have some of the other ones you need this one also. My issue after looking at several tutorials is I don’t want to have to think that much every time I sit down to do my eyes. Glam, retro and Biba are more instinctive for me. I think it’s possible to get similar looks to my dream using my existing palettes. I used to think I had to have every single ND 18 pan palette and I’m finally realizing that unless I’m going to start a channel which I’m not it’s pointless because I’m going to rarely use zendo, pastel and sunset. Bronze is probably as far as I’m going. I bought both of the eye and face palettes last year. I’m light med and can wear both and I actually use both. I hope she comes out with another one. I would say definitely look at some of the my dream swatch videos before buying. It’s swatching differently than how it looks in the pan-not better or worse just different. I’m glad she added a black and supposedly it’s a great black. If I didn’t have the other ones I would probably get it. Who knows when the VIB sale comes along I’ll probably pick it up but I’m starting to realize I’m a makeup addict and need to rein it in. I currently have only one face and enough makeup for 500 people for 500 years. Do I really need to buy right now this, the Dior face and eye palette and Dior lipstick bag and I really do want both of the Dior. I missed the gold lipstick bag last year.

Yes I will definitely be doing a comparison with the Retro palette since it looks like some of the tones are similar. I am going to try and do a review of the 3 other Guerlain quads that I picked up sometime soon. I think that Royal Jungle in particular probably isn't worth it given the shades but on it's own its a really nice palette

interesting that several of these holiday releases all have little stars! giggling that you ended with too faced bc after all those stunning luxury drops it looks even funnier 😂.. i finally got a hold of the original one a few years back. i genuinely liked the color story but the formula itself doesn’t excite me even tho i use it when i’m at my boyfriend’s. so that’s why i wouldn’t recommend it. i like sweet potato pie but if i had to choose i’m still team pumpkin 🎃 🤪 i would much rather some lighter/clear lip products that smell like different holiday treats 😊 i don’t do face palettes either generally bc of quality and bulk. CT is an exception bc as you mentioned the quality is just as good if not better in those, including her larger eyeshadow palettes. i wouldn’t mind a “backstage” line from her bc only some of her packaging gets me. i wish the dior backstage palettes weren’t so similar to the quints they just released. and like you i prefer singular lipsticks. i have a beautiful Rouje quad but i rarely reach for it 😅 so far i am still most excited about the Guerlain butterfly case/lippie and Chanel Fall lippies. i hope Byredo has a holiday release 😍 and i think Isamaya mentioned another collection releasing in October!

You know, I didn't even think to call out the fact that the dior backstage palettes look like the other dior palettes 😂 it seems like every brand is doing a green one and a purple/or red one this year

The Chanel highlighters remind me of Hermes Permabrass highlighter, which is sheer magic, and you might actually like them (unless you dislike the Permabrass highlighter). I use the Chantecaille singles (pangolin, crane, zebra, rhino) as gorgeous one-and-dones.

Someone may have already said this but in the Dior face and eye palette that’s a highlighter not powder and the lipstick case that was in gold last year is in black this year. Can’t tell if hardware is black or silver (I’m thinking silver) and can’t tell if it’s embossed like the ones were last year. I don’t think it is.

I’m not a fan of the face palettes either.. I think it’s more limiting and technically it forces someone to purchase items that they don’t like with the things they like, unless they like everything in the palette. Thank you for the swatch photos of Tom ford! I preordered both colours and am happy to get more info! I like the crème formula and can’t wait to pair those quads with my indie shimmer/multichrome singles!

Hello Sofia. Not much to tempted me. Love the Chanel with the gold in it. There is a brand. I have seen two reviews on YT. Is the ISAMAYA palette? Not familiar with the name. But it is gorgeous. Saw the gucci in store at Saks today. I tried to fiddle with the compact (before an SA came-i was in a hurry) and does NOT seem like the bottom opens for a brush, nor does it look big enough. Pan sizes are small maybe like the Sisley in the Zebra square packaging

The NARS collections looks amazing. YSL products are really good. The e/s are very nice quality and absolutely better quality than Dior eyeshadows. Dior needs to really up their game with their e/s formula. I have palettes from the Dollar Store that have better pigmentation and color pay off. Love YSL's lipsticks and glosses. Honestly, I've never really had a bad purchase from YSL.

Thank you for your bubbly, organic personality always, and honest reviews. it’s so refreshing. With affiliate links, do you have any in Australia? If not, could I write them and ask for you? I don’t know what they will say but am happy to ask. We have Dior online but not Chanel at this point. Let me know your thoughts. I love Dior and Chanel. I hope one day you can review Sisley more. I know you have enough to review but as you are uplifting to watch, I just thought I would ask if you can consider this brand at some stage. Thank you once again for your informative and honest reviews. I like that you are not influenced by brands and just say it as it is, while still being respectful of the brands. I haven’t used affiliate links before but I know they support your channel but I love Dior Australia and that’s about it here in my county in terms of what you can buy online and Sisley Australia too. Sorry for my naivety with affiliate links but I haven’t used them before as all the reviewers I watch aren’t from my country. Sisley I only started using over a year ago myself after purchasing Dior and Chanel for more than 20 years. I have sensitive skin and as they have skincare benefits in their formulations, it’s what lured me in and their qualify, I do love and they don’t launch every 5 minutes. I use biodynamic skincare, so makeup is the only thing I use that’s not so natural, as I have so much makeup that organic makeup you have to use up or throw out. Kjaer Weis is another brand that I would love to indulge in as it’s organic and has beautiful ingredients. It’s very popular too. Having a perfect canvas is the best start before applying your art, being makeup. Sorry my reply is long, I know you would be so busy too. I don’t know how you do all what you do. Working and doing this is a lot and replying us 😊 congratulations on your 5K subscribers. No doubt you will do well. With your good nature, you have no competition really, as few are like you on here 😇

I got two of the zillion new nudes from Chanel… they were /are so gorgeous, I couldn’t help myself.. I am with you.. not a huge fan of the Chanel shadows! That palette from them does look pretty … I may get it. Those colors are so boring, but straight up my lane! 😂

It is all a pass for me except for the miss Dior lipstick case/s. The sparkly one has my heart. I am passing on Chanel lipstick and eyeshadows but I caved and got one nail polish. I live their nail polishes. I very much dislike Chantecaille, their quality and price. I love luxury makeup but they are not luxury for me.

This Dior Millefiori makes me feel Dior had a baby with Gucci. Or: Hey, Gucci, we know how to be italiens too. 😂 I don't know....let the Gucci pattern for them! I'm really curious about Gucci blushes but I didn't like the case. I'll wait for the blushes come in a regular line. I'll buy CT air powder in the future. For now I'm going to save my money for the stupid Chanel tweed that I was trapped into 😂

Wow this makes me sad: new Chanel releases are drifting further and further away from my style!!! Previously they were VERY up my alley and I was first in line to order their stuff - especially the Candeur et Experience quad and whole red line by Lucia Pica. But now... *yawn* 😞 Plus the quality seems to have gone downhill since Lucia left as well 😞

as someone who likes high end, luxury makeup, i choose my products very carefully. i only have 1 chanel palette at the moment, so the next one i buy, i want it to be everyday, neutral and pretty. the average woman is not wanting crazy unique colors that are youtube influencer worthy. we like everyday, simple, easy to blend eye shadows. the wild, metallic, rainbow palettes look nice as art, but not on the face of the average girl. looks like a clown.

I think that is probably why we are seeing more neutral palettes right now. The most interesting color stories are coming from indie brands
