Bill Cullen was the best game show host ever, hands down!! Years from now, budding game show hosts will still be studying Bill Cullen tapes to see how hosting a game show is done.
On CBS daytime's "Pass The Buck" starring Bill Cullen, all three months (April 3-June 30, 1978) were first-run episodes. When the final five shows were aired before the version premiere of "The New Tic Tac Dough", it was the first complete week of six of summer school in the non-SLDC version (Mon June 26-Fri June 30, 1978).
June 30, 1978 was the last day of Pass the BUck. The New Tic Tac DOugh bowed on 7/3/78 in its place. It ran for nine weeks only on CBS. The syndicated version which was to bow in September 1978 did bow and lasted eight years.
This was a Bob Stewart game that only ran 13 weeks. That’s a pity, since it was a genuinely good game. After its cancellation, Bob moved his production company to Hollywood, and Bill Cullen and his wife moved west too.
