I don't really agree with "it's about knowledge" thing. I think a lot of people that failed are very knowledgeable. However, the exam doesn't test knowledge, it tests interpretation of the questions, it tests English skills, it tests your capacity of memorize things you will never use and see. They try to make things more complicated than it should, they are not straight to the point and they leave to much for interpretation for people to try and guess what fits in the scenario or mind of whoever set up the questions. I think ISC2 lost focus on what's important and one of the basic security principles: Keep it simple. They take too much pride in being considered "a difficult exam" that they purposely makes it harder than it needs to be by using obscure terms and scenarios that are not realistic just to confuse people. I think the exam needs some serious redesign to test actual knowledge and experience and less "do you remember this I briefly mentioned in 1 line in a book with 1200 pages ?".
Hi Adonis! No worries. You are more than welcome to disagree and proceed however you like. Many people feel the same way you do about the exam, and I am trying to help people who are looking for a different perspective needed to pass the CISSP exam. My take on your comment is that you missed the message and the point of the video. "I think a lot of people that failed are very knowledgeable." I 100% agree with this statement, and that is not what was said in the video at all. Knowledge of applying industry standards is the key. In my experience, what I see is that most people try and use their organizational working knowledge (which rarely complies with industry standards) to pass the exam. This is what gets them in trouble on the CISSP exam. If you really feel the way that you do, I'd highly recommend pursuing another certification that best meets your personal needs. The CISSP may not be right for you at this time. Wishing you all the best.
@@BEINFOSEC I totally agree with what you're saying regarding the working knowledge and industry standards. I just think ISC2 need some serious changes in CISSP to be more relevant to the real word. The English language they use for example just seem to complicated for no reason that even native speakers get confused and this is supposed to be a global certification. Also, there's way too much that's only applicable to the US that's pretty much irrelevant to pretty much everywhere else (like specific laws and some regulations). Also trying to cover too much but nothing in depth doesn't seem like a great approach for me.
