Quick question, what’s the minimum score to pass the essay? I had my writing test today and did very well answering the questions, but didn’t have enough time to give strong opinions on the essay. I did follow the whole essay structure I learned watching to this channel though.

Thank you so much for this video, I'm working on getting my GED so I can be a better person and get a good job too. I tried getting It some time ago and passed 3 out of 5 but, the math and the essay were something I was having a hard time with so I did not do them but now, I'm going after what I should have done then.

@@RCZNA I had trouble with the multiple choice part. it took up more time than expected because it is alot of reading.. So i was only left with 20 minutes to complete the essay. You get 2 hours total and you can choose on how you want to use them. you have the option to do the essay first or skip it and do the multiple choice and then do the essay in the end. Any more questions, feel free to ask..
@@ttvbighomie2864 Not good and didn't go due to procrastination. Have to wait until next month to try again and because of covid I can only go once a month. Getting the hiset so I can qualify for the Pell grant and get my degree at the local community college.

The GED essay was extremely easy thanks to your guide. The passing score in my state is a 145 and i scored a 159. The multiple choice was hard tho lol. But thanks a lot!

What kind of essays are commonly presented to students taking the GED? Like is it most likely argumentative or something else? I need to know so I can prepare better. @Purely Persistent
Hmmm.... You might consider contacting the center in NY where you took your TASC tests. Maybe they can give you advice. If you start the HiSET or GED, you will have to take all of the tests over (not ideal). Good luck! :)
@@PurelyPersistent That what am doing I getting one on one tutoring once a week . when I took the entry test it was in the 250 on both reading and math range. So she say I only need a little help.

Does the essay need to be 5 paragraphs long? Can it be 4 paragraphs long? paragraph 1- Explain the argument paragraph 2 - Opposing ideas and personal experience paragraph 3 - Evidence supporting your argument paragraph 4 - The conclusion
4 paragraphs should be fine, but I would probably switch 2 and 3. Make sure that you only briefly mention the opposing side. Let me know how it goes! 😀
Yay! Great job on deciding to do this for yourself. You might consider watching my test anxiety video; it will help with your nerves…. Well, honestly, the tests are equal. Neither one is better. That said, I recommend HiSET to my local students because it is cheaper in my state. Most of the prep that I do on this channel works for either, but it is slightly more focused on HiSET.
Well, I would say about 3-5 sentences per paragraph. Be sure to watch my other writing videos where I actually write an essay; they will really help you!
No worries! When you take the test, you will receive two articles of opposing views. You will then write your argumentative essay based on those articles. Be sure to practice a bit... Good luck! :)
