Don't make promises you can't keep. All I have left is my word. My wife left me, I hit my bottom, work, life and everything hit me hard, lost it all, and my sobriety. What if I had said what I meant, life might of been different. Everything happens for a reason. I'm grateful to be alive. It gets better. The life In front of me/you as well, is far more important than the life behind you/me. This song hits home, cause we love our significant other enough to let em go and live a happy life. I refound this song after breaking up with my girlfriend. Although we didn't date for long, I always thought she was the one. I've had other girls throughout my life, but it never hurt as much as when she left. I was so heartbroken that tears didn't even want to flow, although they didn't flow I just felt it in my heart and thought, "My life is shit as is, but now that she is gone what do I have left." To this day, I pathetically hope that she will return but I know that this won't happen. I was just ranting, sorry for the spam message.

I've been listening to this on repeat for over a day now. Every single word hits home, every chord of the guitar pulls at the strings of my heart. It has been so long, years, maybe a decade? Since the last time I felt feelings like that for someone. Wandering alone in the dark for even the faintest sign of a light or a glow of warmth. Then I found it, and I could finally feel again, I saw the stars & dreamed again and felt invincible, I felt ALIVE. But then it was dark again, the stars were gone and I found myself in the dark again. So dark, not even a shadow to keep you company. If it were under different circumstances I would have fought tooth and nail for that star light to come back, but she has much bigger issues to address right now than a possible love interest. The timing was just bad, even so I am thankful, so thankful that even if for only a short time I could feel again. Remembering how happy I was brings me to tears even now, I had found a long lost piece of myself. Now I wander alone in the dark again for who knows how long. But i'm still so grateful even if for just this pain, I know they say time heals all wounds but I think it's more accurate to say it numbs all wounds. And that's what this dark is, numb, so i'll cling onto this pain for as long as I can before it starts to fade away and I find myself again just completely numb to everything. I felt alive.

When I was pretty depressed a few years ago. My partner and I seperated. It was the most hardest thing I ever went through. I was so emotionally torn. I didnt know what I needed to do anymore. I lost my bestfriend and My life partner. I used to cry so hard. everyday. I know that sounds stupid. But I really couldnt help be heartbroken. I was honestly devastated. But after a year of doing drugs and fucking my life up. I got sober. Got back with my partner. and yeah. Happy Ending.
