From the bottom of my heart I am truly sorry anyone has to deal with this. I was always exited to fly because of the one of a kind view you get. Looking down on all the farms like a patchwork quilt is magical and I wish more people could experience this wonder.
The only time I was unable to wear a mask due to health issues was due to a bloody nose. Anytime it stopped and I put my mask back on it started again. 15 minutes without a mask after te blood stopped did the trick. Also I was very happy to carry several spare masks cause a bloody mask is a bad look
If only more passengers could be considerate like you, although with your condition and I'm a FA, I'd attend to you fully or bump you to first class so you can be more rested.
well, just for cases, i even had evertime several masks with me - and i needed these spare masks. one time a couple was riding the train with me from czech to germany - and in germany it was to that time "need" to wear a mask, but they didn't know that. after explaining, i gave them some of my spare masks - and they were grateful for that.
Once had a lady tell me “I’m not Chinese” when I asked her to put her mask on, the horrified look in her daughter’s eyes when she realized what her mom just said, will always stick with me lol
I can't understand why those people choose losing the flight, not getting to their destination, having a brawl with cabin crew and security, getting embarrassed/ humiliated, going viral for being stupid, wasting precious time and money for rebooking, getting a bad record in flights VS. WEARING A MASK
Maybe they strongly believe that wearing a mask is not in their best interest and feel everyone complying with this rule is a sheep and therefore they feel like they are fighting for something that they perceive as right and will therefore not leave it. It has happened on many occasions throughout history when people have rathred stand for their beliefs than to comply even if their beliefs (right or wrong for that matter) have ended up in the most extreme cases costing them their lives.
I mean i agree that it's easier by all definitions to go with the mask and if it's SO unbearable eventually order a drink or something to chew on take the mask down and continue your flight without the mask under the reason that they are consuming something. I flew a week ago and I got hungry and ordered food and for as long as I was chewing on my sandwich no-one asked me to have on. But i think that this is not what is happening here. In order to understand you need to have a deeper understanding in a human's psychology because if a person truly and strongly believes in something it doesn't matter if it is right or wrong in the eyes of other people, they will stand for it no matter what it costs them. Have you ever tried arguing with a toddler? Well that's the same really. From what I have seen on tv and on social media people protest especially in America that wearing a mask goes against their basic rights. And having restrictions and mandatory vaccines do too. And again to some extent it is true. The reason may be a good one for all those measures but they are restricting in personal freedoms and that is undeniable. Now some people accept that in order for them to remain healthy they need to go with it. And others don't care because the threat doesn't seem so imminent to them or because they believes their other rights are more important i don't know. The point is that at the end of the day when they behave in such manner, for them, they are fighting for something they stand for. If they accept to follow the regime then they are putting their arms down and basically abandon the fight. This is why they behave in a way that would seem irrational for someone looking from the other side for example you in this case.
@@anonyme2938 Thank you very much for your insight. That was well said. I still hope that people should be more mature and aware about what's happening with the world. It is the virus that we should fight and we should also consider other people's safety. So many doctors and nurses have sacrificed their lives to save patients. If people would cooperate, it would be a big help for all of us to bounce back from this pandemic. I agree we all have basic rights but we should know when to apply that right at the right place and time. I would understand if a toddler wouldn't obey rules and regulations because they are too young to understand but as adults, we should have already learned basic logic and should know the consequences of our actions.
I love the fact that in airplanes or cruisers or ships, the commander has unsurpassed authority. If he/she says you’re out, you’re out. Period. No bureaucracy, no opinions, no possibility to call a lawyer, you are fuking out. Love it.
just as a thing - as i had few my first fly, i had to wear a mask - but, 'cause the flight was short, it wasn't a thing for me. on my 2.nd flight, i was thinking how good i could be with 8-9 hours wearing a mask... and in the end, the commander said: "in this flight, there isn't a mask required - you can put them off. but, respect others when they want to wear a mask or not." that was surprising for me - and to be fair, i didn't have seen anyone on the flight with a mask.

Hate to be a nerd, but also it would be impossible to open any doors mid-flight because of the air pressure. You’d need to have superman strength to open the doors.
@Robert st Even if you don’t believe masks are necessary, they are the policy. You agree to that policy when buying the ticket, and if you can’t comply you can’t fly.
@Robert st I don’t know what science you are quoting but it definitely isn’t the CDC (not that I particularly believe them, but that’s a debate 😂) But I do believe that no matter how stupid a policy is, your choices are to either follow it or not go at all.
@Robert st It has nothing to do with the rights people died for. If a store says you have to wear shoes, a shirt and a mask, they have every right to do so. I disagree with many of the policies the governments are putting in place, like limiting people in my own home or requiring masks on my property (which actually does go against rights and freedoms)... but when it comes to company policy they can require whatever they want. If they wanted to insist that every person has to wear a blue shirt in order to go into the store they just as well could. It’s their store, their policies. And about the vaccine? I personally am not getting it but if the CDC says the vaccinated can stop wearing the masks then that’s alright with me, but each store is still allowed their own policies.

@ Sonnenanbeterin1991 I’m assuming you’re not black, black ppl started the term Karen. It was meant for annoying white woman who don’t mind their business and like to stop and question ppl they feel are breaking the rules, acting as a police with no badge. Wow I love that people were actually forced to leave the plane. People forget what a huge privilege it is to be able to fly. They should be respectful to the companies that make it possible. I think the same goes with every service provided. We take so much for granted when in actuality would not survive without supermarkets etc.

When I lived in Korea it was common that people would wear masks to prevent spreading germs when they were sick. I don't understand how refusing to prevent the spread to others can express respect of others' rights.
If you're not sick, you can't spread it. If you're healthy, wearing a mask has mostly a negative effect for you, and people trying to communicate with you. Any medical procedure should absolutely NOT be forced upon anyone by law. The Koreans and Japanese all chose to wear masks when they felt like it, which is absolutely fine.

Actually that’s how they should work Edit: before you go on to read the comments below, let me clarify a few things: 1) I am not talking about the variants because obviously a vaccine created for a specific virus won’t work as well or at all when said virus mutates, 2) OP is wrong because vaccines do in effect work that way for the original virus/disease they were created to build immunity against. That’s why the CDC said vaccinated people no longer have to wear masks and changed it when the delta variant took hold 3) I apologize for being rude or condescending to anyone in the “future”comments who was just being nice, but if you attacked me, you deserved a little taste of your own medicine. 4) I should’ve clarified these things earlier instead of quickly replying and apologize for that

@@-Believeinyourself- in most places, you are required to wear one. Doesn’t matter what your personal believes are on the matter. So you coming in to a business and not wearing one, arguing with staff, throwing a fit, and slowing everything down just makes you look like a stupid child. Actually, I’ll take away the child part, because children are better about wearing masks, so it just makes you look stupid.
Surgeons wear masks whenever they're doing surgery, which can sometimes be more than 5 hrs straight. Doctors wear masks when they're treating patients (depending on what they're doing), and dentists wear a mask every day almost the whole day and they're perfectly fine. If they can wear a mask for more than 8 hours straight, then so can you. If you can't breathe when you're just sitting down doing nothing, unless you actually have a severe medical condition (diagnosed by a professional doctor), it's the wrong material for a mask or you're wearing the wrong one
Or maybe you just have the right to breathe normally? Or you know that Dr. Fauci and others have admitted that masks don't protect you from getting or spreading Covid?
It has nothing to do with rights, it's about everyone's health. Unless you're doing some sort of active activity like biking or running, outside, you don't need to wear it. If it's walking, shopping, or anything calm indoors apart from eating, you wear the mask. You still breathe normally when you wear it. If you're not breathing normally, then get your lungs or heart checked. It doesn't protect you completely but it reduces the chances, especially where there are lots of people - you never know if someone in the room unknowingly has a bit of it or something else. And the vaccine doesn't completely prevent it either. I have no idea who that is. My mother is a medical doctor in the UN who deals with viruses, so she deals with Covid patients every day. So I trust her more. I already asked her about it last year when the lockdowns started
@@Utuber209 you need to get your lungs checked out if you're having difficulty breathing in a normal mask and it's not about rights ofc people have the right to breath but I can breath perfectly normal in a normal environment with a mask on and I had it on for 8 hours a day during school. Unless it's super hot out or your running around obviously you would have difficulty breathing. so I dont see the problem
I hate wearing the mask and I'm glad they're finally getting rid of them. I personally have a hard time breathing with them. However, out of respect (and since I love flight attendants so much lol), I wore one out of respect and since I had already agreed to wear them. THat's what the person should've done.
My 88yo grandma has COPD, Asthma, and has to sit through roughly 4-5 hours of dialysis multiple times a week with a mask on. Many people there have the same issues. In almost 2 years of this there's been no issues at the facility. So I'm going to assume most people can manage a flight with one. But if they can't you still don't need to be rude to a flight attendant.
well, just another "story" - 'cause there's branches out there wh had to work with food, and they had to wear a mask for 8 hours - every day at work. noone of them complains about "they can't breath"... the only ones who complain are these who doesn't think of that. or how about surgeons - when they need to do a long surgery? every person wouldn't go there if they won't wear a mask.
people who claimed they couldn't breathe in a mask are just making excuses. Doctors and nurses have worn them 8+ hours a shift and newsflash, they STILL can breathe.
My dad gas copd, I think I might have it, I notice that even in ny I have a hard time breathing in heat, and that's why my dad was diagnosed with cpod, hopefully I don't and it's just some hot and cold flashes that can be helped through meds
I don’t think I’d make it as a flight attendant I probably would have just said “well why don’t you just put your mask on and we’ll see if you make it or not?”
What I still don't understand is why people believe they will die wearing masks. You can still breathe, it's just a bit difficult. I'd like to see someone come to my face and say they can't breathe through a surgical mask while my ass is still wearing TWO of them and STILL breathing after a year!😐😐
Exactly some people say I have a medical condition so I can’t wear one first of all I don’t think that there is one and if you did have one you would probably be in the hospital on a ventilator

For the majority of COVID, I had to work with people on a daily basis that would be difficult about the masks. Thankfully there was a counter between us that forced a little distance, but not enough. Your situation is a little bit more frightening due to the lack of that physical barrier, but if it helps any, I skipped some of these steps. From asking someone to make sure it covered their nose and mouth, if I had to ask three times, the service would stop each time they moved it down. For those not wearing one, I asked if they had one and pointed to the doors with mask signs if they said they didn't. Whenever someone tried to argue with me, I simply repeated myself: "properly worn masks are a requirement." After hearing that five times in a row no matter what they said, they were annoyed and usually complied; if not, I made them leave. Hoping this helps you.
@@Frostorm777 Unfortunately, that is not an option. My roommate was diagnosed during that time with stage 4 cancer and therefore had a weakened immune system. You can always become a tour guide here in Romania. We scrapped the hsyterical coronoia crap over a year ago, and even then people had become largely indifferent to official mandates and "recommendations". Plus, the war in Ukraine had just begun.
