man im so much older now than before, this was my damn childhood. thank you so much for making these videos and making me engaged with trains. i always admired the end and looked at the california lights. to conclude, thank you for making videos that will forever stay in my childhood
What is the name of that train? Why am I always looking for him and I never knew his name, could you tell me and translate it into Spanish? because I use a translator and I don't understand much English
Yeah, I recently went up to Santa Cruz for thanksgiving break and we went up to the Henry Cowell redwoods. Picture this: it’s a brisk November morning. Your breath is making clouds in the air as you’re entering the woods. Then up the hills, you can hear the faint, almost ghostly whistle of the narrow-gauge Shay locomotive making its passenger run up the mountain.
I love all trains and love trains galore as I love the sounds of trains and as a 8 and 9 year old I hung around trains and got on the tracks waiting for trains to pull in which was not safe but now I just watch them on line and trains sound cool ! Do not worry I do not track the trains I see as I am a full fledge adult !

A Very Well Done Video! My Favorite Part of the video is when the Santa Fe 3751 passes The Coaster Train in San Diego back in May of 2010. And I also like NCTD Sprinter Light Rail System on the former ATSF Escondido Branch line. Rated: 10/10
Awesome video. Nice to see passenger service doing well in Cali. Not a lot like out this way in NY-NJ but definitely nothing to sneeze at. Thanks for sharing
Does Christmas come early in the USA?! What a present of a video! It must have taken quite a bit of skill to put that together. So many things to enjoy - and there were a few of your individual 'trade marks' throughout. Like the reflection of the train early on and those wonderful old steam trains. I've had a glorious half hour watching - and I'm gonna run it again - several times. Thanks Mike. PS. Have you ever thought of doing a video on Los Angeles station? It's all very thirties and art deco with the architecture and the art work and waterfall at the rear entrance.
Thank you for the kind words, Rob. I would like to do a video on Los Angeles Union Station at some point. It may have to wait for a while though, because I will most likely need special arrangements to get all the shots I would need for the video.
CoasterFan2105 I hope that you will eventually do a video on LA Union Station. I passed through LAUPT twice last September during a month-long Amtrak trip, and it is fabulous! I would also like to see a video done on South Station in Boston. For a metropolitan area, it is a really neat little station.
LAUPT is on the radar. There are a number of people who would like to see that one done. The next time I'm in Boston, I'd like to do South Station too.
