A Singapore Airlines flight that made an emergency landing in Bangkok on Tuesday had fallen into an air pocket in Thai airspace before it encountered turbulence, with one man killed and seven people critically injured on board, a senior airport official said.
Suvarnabhumi airport general manager Kittipong Kittikachorn told a press conference a 73-year-old British man died during the incident, likely due to a heart attack, while head injuries were sustained among seven people critically injured. One crew member was hospitalised, he said.

Why are you calling out the airline????????????? People are always told to remain strapped in.

@TheProgear
@TheProgear 24 дня назад
A fatal accident, or "KILLER crash," can occur for a variety of reasons. However, the term "KILLER car" has an entirely different connotation, implying that the driver intentionally sought to harm someone. The title "KILLER SIA flight" is misleading because it is unclear whether the reference is to pilot negligent or an incident involving severe turbulence. A more appropriate title would be "SIA flight experiences severe KILLER turbulence," as this conveys the intended meaning more clearly.

This is why they need to have individual seatbelt sensors that can tell the crew when the belts are not engaged. Looking at the damage, many people flew up and then rapidly came crashing back down. Depending on the angle this is what probably caused the fatality.
