Holy shit this is fitting, also it's eerie how well I relate to this song. Like, I've always been the type to dread the future and regret wasting time and yeah when you look back, as they say, hindsight is 20/20. We see things so much more clearly than we did back then. And the future is unknown and frightening and as you grow up time just seems to slip through your fingers and go by faster and faster... Sorry, didn't mean to get all existential. But I think the singer also makes a good point that perhaps we should stop trying to fight the tides of time and just let it pass through. Just go with the flow, try to live in the present and not worry about the future or mourn the past. I once read a book about how we humans should learn from animals, because animals don't fear or think about the passage of time. Not really. Dogs and cats have no concept of time apart from the change of seasons and the never-ending cycle of day and night. They don't really worry about the future, and they don't contemplate the past, so they are happier. We humans could learn from them. Sometimes I wonder if true immortality isn't living forever but simply not acknowledging the passage of time. When you admit the passage of time, you admit to being mortal. We have turned time into something finite, something that can be used up but never regained. What if we thought of time as infinite, if we thought of ourselves as infinite? What if time is not money but more like the universe which is ever-expanding? Sorry, I ended up waxing a bit philosophical there lol, thanks for coming to my TED talk. Seriously though this is great, A+! By the way what version of this song is this? I looked up the song but it didn't include the part from 1:18 - 1:34, so is that like an extended version or something?
