A year ago I came across a large petrified stump.... I've been obsessed with this petrified stump I found on the coast of Palos Verdes. It was too heavy to carry out (this area has no protections and would've allowed it). It has since been buried by the landslides caused by the eroding cliffs. Thankfully I was able to come across another specimen that was exposed by those same landslides. The stump I found is half encased in sandstone, with evidence of boring clams and other mollusks on the surface of that sandstone. This means the stump was initially dislodged by a flood; was left hanging around the coast encased in sandstone where it was subjected to drilling by sea life; and was then somehow re-deposited into the cliff; where it was then exposed one last time and found by me.
Excellent video on petrified wood the best I’ve seen, and I like the voice of the person, speaking knowledgeable , clear, and friendly. Yes, petrified wood is very hard. I have a piece I’ve been working on to polish and it’s much harder than the rainbow obsidian and other interesting stones I’ve collected. Thank you.

The research that has been compiled here is incredible, well done to you and your family for such a great completion. As always the narration is wonderful thank for this lovely trip!
