As I was watching this I noticed the date, November 28, 1963....was wondering if that was the date it was taped or the date it aired. Just thinking of John Kennedy's assassination and curious if that had already occurred when these people met for this game. I was just 2 months shy of 2 years old in November 1963.....I obviously would not remember this one, but I do remember watching this show in black and white...probably from 1968 or 69 would be my first recollection. I love watching Password because it is a game that involved words and takes great wit and creativity at times. Mr. Ludden was a college graduate and a former teacher, he was so good at what he did with this show and College Bowl(which was of his own creation, he came up with the premise for that show). As a young teenager, I had a crush on him, I found him charming, smart, very polite and cute(always wanted to see him without those glasses)......He married the sweetest and funniest woman in the world and their marriage and how they treated each other on air was so beautiful to see....indeed a glorious time to have lived, to have witnessed civility and decency between people......praying we will return to that one day! GOD BLESS JIMMY STEWART,,,,my favorite actor of all time. Thank your Mr. Ludden!

Yes, this air date was just six days after the November 22, 1963 JFK assassination, and three days after the nationally televised funeral, which (together with ongoing tv coverage of other events such as Lee Harvey Oswald's death by gunfire on tv November 24, 1963). As there seems to be no pall over the lightly bantering mood of this episode, I would guess it was videotaped before November 22nd.

So crazy to think that agents talking stars into going on this show is the equivalent of getting older stars onto TikTok now.

11:28 Bob successfully uses "opposite" upwards voice inflection with the clue "empty" to get Jimmy Stewart to correctly say "full." Exactly a minute later 12:28, Bob uses the exact same "opposite" upwards voice inflection with the clue "forward," but instead of saying "backwards" Stewart inexplicably says "march." We all know Stewart's military resume, but geez, if Bob wanted "march" he would have said "Sousa," "parade," or said "FORWARD" in a loud, Drill Sergeant manner, not with an "opposite" upwards voice inflection. Interesting. In defense of Stewart, he does the same thing again with the next contestant 17:50 who used the "opposite" upwards voice inflection with the clue "fraternity," but instead of Stewart responding "sorority," he responded, "dance." At least he was consistent, lol. Stewart's reaction after losing the word is priceless - many can do impressions of Stewart, but nothing beats Stewart himself doing Steward. He literally gestures to himself as if to say, " I have to remember when the clue is given in a voice that rises like that, I have to think 'opposite.'" Beautiful.

I've got to believe this episode of the Password show was NOT conducted on November 28, 1963 which was the same week of the assassinated President John F. Kennedy's funeral. They are all too jovial. My belief is that the actual show and live audience took place prior to its TV aired date. Almost certainly.

I would have said 'shave' after 'Burma', and I sure didn't live during the era of the Burma Shave signs.I always knew of them, and when I was a kid in the 1970's, you could still buy that Burma brand of shaving soap. Some men still mixed their own shaving cream in mugs back then.My dad did.I was only age 3 when this episode was made!

I was born in the early '70s, and by the time I got to Junior High in the mid-'80s, I had a classmate in my grade who was given the legal name of "Burma Shaver". I wonder what ever became of him, nearly 40 years later - and whether or not he sought to correct the damage that was inflicted by his own parents.
